Forums - Gaming - I have proof consumers don't really care about 1080p.

Uh Joe, Mario Kart Is 1080p ( I think, the game is 1080p 60 fps single player(30 online and with multiple players)
X is also 1080 I hear. The game has dynamic framerate, where in some segments it goes into 30 and others it goes into 60

Monster Hunter is 1080p 50 fps(lol  to be honest I hardly notice the frame rate drops in MH) of course .

Bayonetta will most likely be 720p 60fps. We shall see.

Do you have inside sources for that or is it what's been said publicly? Everything redible out in the wild says 720p.

I talked to some folks I know in Nihon.
I dont know why the Mario Kart screenshots are in 720p but the game should be in 1080p doubt it'd change.

Consumers dont reall care about 1080p but they do care about spending $500

It does? What 1080p games are you talking about?

Most of the games out are sub 1080p and most of the games announced are sub 1080p. The only mainstream 1080p games on the system are Rayman Legends and Wind Waker HD. Only 1080p announced game is Smash. 3D World, DK, Mario Kart, X, Sonic lost worlds, etc. are all 720p at 60fps.

I thought Mario Kart was 1080p. Can't seem to find any confirmation on that. However, Bayonetta 2 and X are supposed to be 1080p. I presume more will come now that developers are becoming more accustomed to the hardware.

Let’s be hypothetical, would more 1080p games give the Wii U a significant edge? Nay.

In a hypothetical situation, I think so.

Totally agree. But as of right now, MS doesn't seem to have trouble off loading its launch hardware.

Kinect = Sales

Most launch console get sold out at launch, even at $600. Both coming console will have amazing sale this year. But I wouldn't count out Nintendo yet.
