Hi everybody, i'm new :) Someone know the game (for every country) is the top seller for the first week? Searching on Japan side (i think Smash Bros Brawl whit 840K, but New Super Mario Bros have sold 910K) PS Sorry for my english, i'm sicilian :)

In Japan it won't be either of those two games, if you search back it will be either a Final Fantasy or a Monster Hunter game on the PS2, with 2 million plus sales in the first week.

There isn't enough old data to find the best selling first week game in Europe, and in America it is most likey Halo 3, with 2 million plus.

If we go Worldwide though (add together the seperate region releases) it will probably be a Pokemon game.

first week speaking, nothing beats the Halo franchise in US, and nothing beats the FF series in Japan (Dragon quest and Monster Hunter might come close, but FF is still overall better sellers)

 I'm sure Dragon Quest is a tiny bit bigger than Final Fantasy.

If you go back a couple of gen's some Nintendo games might have a shot, but we have no info about them, so for certain info: Halo 3 is tops.

If we're going a little on the wild side, Pokemon D/P had 1.4M first week, and I remember that being 3rd most. Pokemon Gold was most, and I think that had roughly 2.6M, and it might just grab second place, I'll check though.

FF VIII : 2.59M
DQ VIII : 2.27M
Pokemon D/P : 1.65M

By country it'd be:

Japan: Dragon Quest 8 (somewhere near 2-2.5m units first week)
USA: Halo 3 (about 2.8m)
UK: Halo 3 (either that or GTA:SA)

GTA:SA had superb openings WW, and in Europe VC had been the best selling that gen in Europe. Sure other games sold more, but handheld games last long, with low 1st weeks. The only 2 games that stand a change are Pokemon Yellow (having HUGE hype from R/B) Pokemon G/S (Having HUGE hype from R/B/Y) and GT3, but that one sold low first week.
