The VX220 is called the Opel Speedster. And the turbo edition has nothing on a Lotus Exige anyways...

That new Holden sure looks good for a Vauxhall, and those cars are great fun and even sturdy built! Its not a dramatic leap in modern car design though, I think the car aspires to be a sort of economic Skyline or something.
It also shares a lot of similarities with new Chrysler designs (the new Hemi series, i.e: big block of a car with little shape beyond a brick.) The main difference between this and the Chrysler is evident though; the Chrysler drives like crap compared to the Holden.

I like your brick reference, especially considering the Volvo estate you posted in the other thread :)

And yes the Elise Exige is no doubt a lot better than the VX220, but it does at least par up ok with the normal Elise (it is pretty much the same car)

Shame on you...

Yeah I know those two are the same car basically, the chassis of both were made in Norway up until 2006! Hydro Aluminium worked them. I think the Lotus had the idea first though, it (Elise) seems inspired by the venerable Lotus Europa. Then again, the Speedster reminds me of the old Opel GT, and both the above could also be an old Citroen (doubtful though...). Toyota 2000 was also very similar in shape and form, a shape I feel could be fully revived if anyone would dare try it!

PS: My Volvo could outrun that Chrysler 300 despite power difference, at least on my home roads. That Chrysler behaves surprisingly well on a race track though.

Lol, I like Volvos, I in fact like the design of the one you posted, but you can't deny it is the squarest shaped car in the world.

It truly is a big huge massive rectangle, the Volvo 850. But the 740 and the 240 takes the cake as far as Swedish cars go...  Some cars look good square, other don't.

PS: For another big huge massive rectangle, check out a Chevrolet Caprice wagon...

That woulds be some hot lovin' there.

On topic: They look like driving them would neccesitate the wearing of a burbury cap and having an IQ of less than 45.

I'm a Japanese car fan, the sexiest cars in the world come from Japan, no-one can argue that.

proof being we can import a 10 year old Supra/FTO/300ZX and they can still outclass todays sports cars in sexiness.

WOW - I want one even tho I can;t drive

I definitely agree with this

Don't understand a guys fascination with cars. An automobile gets you from point A to point B, so what does it matter how big the engine is, all it's fancy upholstery, etc etc. My dream car is one with 4WD that seats 7 or so comfortably that gets good mileage/tank.
