Killer Instinct on the Xbox One might just have to ruin your party, especially since it's essentially free.

then it wont count if its installed, since then 3ds face raiders will be the most sold shooter of all time (currently over 35mil!)

I think most people are going to buy one or the other rather than both.  Japan would have to make up for America's lack of interest in the handheld version and WiiU would have to vastly pick up in america for sales to pick up here.

But 3m is very managable for 3DS but still i see it as unpredictable as we have yet to see how the franchise does on handhelds.  Adding to that, like i said before WiiU will have the superior version where americans will ignore the handheld version for the most part.  Besides japanese adopting it (As they are pretty much a mobile>Home Console anyways) i dont see it picking up in the west nearly as well.

Luigi's mansion didnt have a counter part releasing for WiiU at the same time as the 3DS release.  Same applies to DKCR.  If they released the Wii and 3DS game at the same time it would have hindered on or the other.  Few people will actually buy both.

If you were to talk about them as having one install base it would be 40m intall base right now.  But the handheld version is very doubtful to pick up the lost sales of the home console version outside of Japan.

I think your going to be surprised cuz the funny thing is its SSB, also its not technically the same game, different experiences, also customization will be on 3DS in some way. Every WiiU owner most likely has a 3DS, i think 3DS version will sell alot, and both wont hinder each other. Also even though this might be pointless to say but it was never stated they both release at the same time!

Who knows. Nintendo IPs aren't doing to crash hot on the Wii U atm.

there arent that many ip's yet, pikmin 3 isn't doing to bad, its over 500k for a system that is selling like ****!

SSB will do very well regardless, and 3ds might do better, there wont be a fighter that'll sell close this gen imo

0.5M for a Japanese game that's released on a system that has virtually no game. It's decent but not good enough.

Is SSB cross-buy?

it is good especially considering its been out for less than 4 months. Anyway no its not cross buy, there not even the same game. Nintendo isn't Sony lol

My prediction

SSB for WiiU= 6.2mil
SSB for 3DS= 4.5mil

Naw, no way Wii U version outselling 3DS version. Your lifetime estimate for SSBU wont even be physically possible for who knows how long.

U say that but install base dont mean anythng for this game! GCN 21mil~SSBM 7mil      Wii 100mil~ SSBB 11.8mil

i saw three polls here of which version is everybody getting, WiiU detroyed 3ds in the poll, the experience will be much much better, but hey you never kno right!? I hope both do well, im buying both dy 1. Actually  now thinking about it, 3ds  will need their owncopies and i have to buy 2 *.*

Install base does means quite a bit actually, since a game can only sell as much as the console. Also those numbers are irrelevant when we're talking SSB43DS v.s. SSB4U, unless you think SSB43DS isn't a SSB game. :L

Other factors to take into account is the price difference and how they'll be perceived as the same game.

And yeah, that poll isn't gonna mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

Are you genuinely trying to make out that cross buy is a bad thing?, the only reason why the games are different on 3ds and wiiu is because the hardware is vastly different, vita versions of ps3 games are often different too, just not vastly because the technological differences between the respective hardware isnt enough to warrant a complete rewrite.

Also, i have been told "you will be surprised" multiple times regarding wiiu titles, and every time it doesnt pan out as they expected, they chime in with saying that actually, that game was just a stop gap until comes out.

3DS is butchering WiiU to death, I find it astonishing that people fail to see that.

But please, amuse me, if you think 3DS version is so vastly different, why are you including it in the lifetime sales as if theyre the same game?, Its one or the other, dont bend the rules to get a skewed outcome, either you combine the sales or you give up on calling them different games.

i just ask in the poll combine sales, calmdown. I didn't mean anything bad by cross play, i meant Nintendo doesn't make the same game, different experiences. If you think SSB will sell bad then go right ahead but you'll be surprised, just cuz wiiu sales suck now doesn't mean it always will.

No need to go all crazy

It's "technically" not the same game, but with the same looks, same gameplay, and basically same name, they will likely be perceived as the same game. Also, everyone with a Wii U also owning a 3DS only hurts the Wii U version, since there'd have to be some significant reasons to pay the extra $20, and with most Wii U owners at this point presumably being nintendo fans, they may just get both versions. But yeah we don't when they'll release, but it go in either versions favor so as you said it doesn't matter right now.

Nah there was a point in saying it since i did imply that they are releasing at the same time :)

I guess we will have to wait and see.  Ill stick with my WiiU prediction at 4m minumum and 8m maximum but as for the 3DS i have no prediction other than it selling less than the WiiU version.  And if i sell more than WiiU that is going to kind of suck since it is suppose to one of the system sellers for WiiU.

Yal are crazy! This is what lifetime sales for SSB4 will look like!

3DS Version: 8 million
Wii U Version: 5 million
