Who is the bigger voice in gaming? EA or Activision.  EA pubishes some of the most popular games like FIFA, MADDEN, THE SIMS, MASS EFFECT etc.  Activision is behind the most popular and best selling franchise in the universe... CALL OF DUTY! ..and as well as many other less relavant games like Spiderman, Tony Hawks..  I personally think EA edges out Activision because COD is really the only "big" game Activision publishes.. There is a chance it may just end up like the Guitar Hero series.  EA on the other hand has Battlefield which is almost as popular as COD and on top of that they have EA Sports games, Dead Space, Mass Effect, The Sims etc.  those games are wayyy more popular than Spiderman or Tony Hawks..

But who cares what I think? I mean what do I know, right!?  Im not important right now... You are! the VGC community. So, who in your opinion is the more powerful publisher EA or Activision.

I trust no one, not even myself.

It depends. EA's been voted worse company in America multiple times, but your point is correct. Activision's only giant franchise is Call of Duty, but Call of Duty sells like crazy on almost every system it comes out on.

World of Warcraft

Except you're totally forgeting that Activison has Blizzard and the Skylanders series. Both are bringing massive revenues.

Activision's net income last year: US$ 1.149 billion
EA's net income last year: US$76.00 million

Activision is currently a far bigger company than anything else out there in the entertainement industry.

The obvious answer is activision and like the others had said your forgetting about world of warcraft. Activision ALONE has been able to break free from vivendi. That's right, you heard it they have been able to break free of their own owner. Now if that's not power then I don't know what the hell is LOL. Paying billions to free themselves out is completely unheard of for any subsidaries! Just because call of duty is their biggest franchise doesn't discount the fact that it literally shits on everything else sales wise. The bigger voice here is determined by who has the bigger market cap, not games.

Blizzard makes all the difference. They generate a monstrous amount of revenue. The rest of Activision also knows to leave them the hell alone.

Activision hold more apealing ip's to a larger crowd, but most of the hardcore community dishes then because of the low quality of most of their titles (activision published survival instinct), or the huge casual appeal in game like skylanders and COD.

EA, actually, have great studios that deliver equally good games, like dice and bioware. The problem is that they make too much bad bussiness decision. Use origin prior to steam, sim city aways on, release another ending do ME, put too much confidence in titles for smartphones and social networks, online passes, canned projects every month, nintendo trash-talk, etc. They really delivered great franchises this generation, that most of us hardcore gamers apreccciate, like mirror edge, dead space and Mass effect, but they screw up most of these same franchises. Most of us would miss more of the EA franchises than activision, if any of then got away.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Considering Activision has a market cap about 18.7 billion.

EA has one of 7.9 Billion
