If you are familiar with Sonic, the name will be no surprise. I never associated "Sonic Boom" with Guile or Street Fighter in general, but always with this (well, besides, you know, an actual Sonic Boom):

from 1993

and

it's "remake" from 2011.

Man, that song is great. I would love if they would actually use it for the show and the game, but that's probably not going to happen. Also, while almost 100% of the Sonic soundtracks are utterly amazing (with Sonic Adventure's soundtrack being my favourite soundtrack of all time), SEGA (of America, probably) always choose the worst songs for their trailers. Seriously.

Also, I'm still very indifferent about the character designs. But they'll probably grow on me, so yeah.

Im very familiar with Sonic. I was a SEGA fan first back in early 90s. I rocked the Genesis more than the SNES. But i didnt played the SEGA CD or Saturn or whatever games nor did i see SOnic cartoons because i had moved to Nintendo by the time.

ANd SF2 was arguably more popular than Sonic back in the days so it makes sense to think of it when you hear Sonic boom since Guile was a main character and that was basically his signature attack that everyone would spam. I ve heard the words Sonic boom like a million times playing SF. I ve heard them playing Sonic like once.

I will probably get Sonic Boome. Yeah Knuckles look bad but the game looks promising. This could be good, let's have faith in the blue hedgehog!

  • Ok, ok. Sonic Boom was announced. (I'll give my impressions on the next post) Here are some details. But I think this is the news of the day... It was actually revealed at GDC 2013, during the CryEngine3 video demo! Also, didn't devs say CryEngine3 couldn't run on Wii U?!?

Ok, I don't think the game will be baaad by any means, it looks very promising (although, Lost Worlds also looked promising), but I seriously HATE that character design. It's disgusting. What happened to Sonic's legs? What happened to Knuckles? Why do they look so out of place? (IMO)

And I'm not talking about a hygiene product...
Other than that...
I actually really like the gameplay footage...
More so than when I first saw Lost Worlds...

It's a good point I guess, seems like everyone is angry about the character design, knuckles in particular. 

 

I would say they'd change it. But, well, they've made the TV show so I doubt they'll redo the whole thing. Guess we will just have to put up with it, and hopefully it's the worst thing about the game.

 

Also, Bravely Default out today? Nice! Who's getting it?
