"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

So Splatoon was definitely fun...but whether or not it's fun enough to justify purchasing the full game right now at that price, I'm not sure.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Splatoon was fun just with 4 weapons, one mode and 2 maps.

With 5 maps, tons of weapons, and tons of gear, the single campaign, battle dojo, turf mode and battle dojo it´s definitely worth 40$.

The new content is coming very soon, the new maps and weapons could be coming on the next week easily.

So are there still no preorder bonuses for Splatoon?

Whilst true, will the addition of a couple more maps and some extra customization really make up for the price? When the content comes in August and the price drops a bit I'll definitely be looking into it. But right now, I don't think it justifies the £35 price tag (which I concede is lower than the £45 RRP)

Wait is it 40$ for US? I may buy this at launch if true.

The content is not coming in August, is coming through the summer, starting soon after the game release, The only thing that´s coming on August are the new matchmaking options to make your teams with friends and customize the rules, and that´s when the game will be very competitive. But maps, gear and new modes comes through the summer.

Well this is where we differ, because I'd like to get the matchmaking when the game comes out as a top priority. Until then the game feels like a shell which will release in a few weeks; a highly competent shell built on a good concept and great gameplay mind; and this is something which will be filled over the coming weeks and months.

As there's no rush for me to get the game, and Witcher 3 takes priority, I'd rather wait and get the full package at a lower price. Power to the people who want to get it now and that's fine, but I'm not one of them.

i wasn´t trying to change your opinion. I was pointing something that some people are misunderstanding about the new content in August. I understand your reasons and you are going to get the game anyway, so that´s awesome.
