Wow, you rank Sunshine pretty low yourself. What issues do you have with it? I`m just curious. Sunshine seems to often be mixed, which I don`t get why. |
Didn't like the lack of variety in its setting, the music, or the camera.

I think that is a fair assessment. No camera or gameplay style is perfect and games have to be designed for what they have. The pseudo-fixed camera is probably something a lot of people balk at, just like some of the oddities of Sunshine. But hey, that's what you get when a franchise is constantly in a state of experimentation. IMO, it's worth it for that aspect alone. Mario's constant tweaks and new takes are what keep it fresh. Not every game will be a person's favorite, but the newness is half the excitement, IMO. And this model also helps find that rare game that's the experience you never knew you wanted till bam, there it was. |
But I'm worried for one thing. Will they keep or drop multiplayer? Because how would 4-player multiplayer work in a 3D Mario game without the static camera of 3D World?
I love the multiplayer, but I don't think it's possible with the camera system of Galaxy. Like I said, Mario 3D World has great level design, graphics, sound, content, etc.
My issue is purely with the camera and controls.

A picture of a chaotic 8 player smash battle would have been even better xD

I think they may - MAY - try online multiplayer next, drop in, drop out if they do a Galaxy 3, which they have hinted at multiple times. Online multiplayer is rising for them, I think they are starting to realize that there's potential there. That and they'll be loathe to abandon multiplayer entirely after it was a selling point for other games. That's just my thoughts. Total speculation.

The best idea I can come up with is limit it to 2 players and let one player control the camera on the gamepad and the other on the TV with a pro controller.
But that's probably hard to pull off on a technical level (and keep the 60 fps in check)
I do wonder what plot they'll come up with if Peach will be playable in every future 3D installment. :p

That`s understandable. Seeing as the setting is tropical, it sort of limits the sort of different things they can do variety wise for stages and the music. The camera can be really terrible, especially that one part in the amusement park stage.

You wouldn't buy it if they fixed a lot of flaws? Majora's Mask 3D had a lot of changes for example. Or Zero Mission... |
They'd have to change so much it wouldn't even be the same game, haha.
