I heard the game is pretty good if you ignored the optional/post-game content.

That's the only 3D Mario game I haven't played, but i've seen multiple LP's of it and honestly, I think it would be one of my favorites. Despite some of its poor design choices, it looks fun to me.

Which I find impossible to believe. Depth perception in this game is terrible and that will lead to some unfair deaths to even the best gamers.
It almost sounds like this was your first 3D Mario. :p

I actually really liked Mario Sunshine... I thought it was a great game : D I do love M64 and 3D World though. I like Galaxy too, but not sure where I rank it. Somehow I don`t think I enjoy it as much as other 3D Mario games...

I've gotta say, in my honestly humble opinion.

Sunshine>Galaxy 2>Galaxy>3D World>64

Galaxy was my first 3D Mario. Actually, Sunshine was but I had very limited access to it and played it very little. Galaxy was the first one I owned/beat.
