If you like Dragon Quest IX a lot, give Fantasy Life a try. They're very similar and Level 5 helped make DQIX

Yeah, you can turn random encounters off, but that means you won't be fighting any enemies at all, whatsoever.

For sure, change it at any time. You can even double the encounter rate if you want... Or half it...
