Come on guys, let's be honest, who here really would have purchased that game even if it had come to Wii U/3DS? I'm not justifying SEGA/Game Freak's decision (because, quite frankly, ignoring Nintendo platforms when making a platforming game is a mistake) but it's not like this is Kingdom Hearts 3 here.

Hell, I could buy it anyways on my computer but I'm not going to because it just doesn't look good. Honestly.

And no, Pokémon is Nintendo's IP. They (GF) can't port it to other consoles.

Its not a high budget AAA game, its a small passion project made by a very small team, it looks great for what it is.

And while Nintendo has part ownership of the IP, they can't do much without Gamefreaks permission, hence the lack of good Pokemon games on home consoles as you said before.

Not sure, Nintendo owns the majority stake in The Pokémon Company and Creatures.

Well, I wasn't going to buy it (from what I saw from the teaser) but if it was on 3ds/wii U, I may have considered it..

While the the main "structure" of how the main Pokémon might define them its not as if a Pokemon RPG can't work without the 8 gym leaders, team badguyz and the elite four.

Pokemon Gale of Darkness XD kind of tries to break out for the formula, and it mostly works its just that the game is so mindumbingly boring and has such a poor design choice (like no capturing Pokemon and the shadow Pokemon nonsense) that it gets overlook.

But seriously dive into the fan games and see that people have many creative idea on how to break the formula while still being great games, Super Pokemon Eevee edition comes to mind.

Been selling steadily 5k-6k weekly for the past month, if it keeps it up it'll get to 1m before Xenoblade.

For what its worth WiiU will get as many million sellers as the PS3 :')

Yeah, i think Codename S.T.E.A.M has turned out to be a good game, but not many people were hyped or had huge expectations for it so i can't say i'm surprised either.

The demo of codename steam gave me an impression that the game is way too slow paced so it becomes boring during long play sessions. The demo was long.
