You think if Vita got exclusive games from TES, Witcher, Dragon Age and Mass Effect series, they wouldn't move hardware? The only jRPG that could compete with them is FF. I'm talking about the West obviously, as I don't really care about or understand Japan. Vita is safe there either way.

As a nearly exclusive RPG gamer, not really. Not unless we are talking about ports of older TES or fallout games or a less action oriented wrpg. It would essentially need to be a turn based wrpg, at which point im not sure it would even be a wrpg at this point. I don't think games like Witcher, dragon age, or Mass effect fit handhelds at all.

The Witcher could be a problem, but Dragon Age or Mass Effect? You can always pause the game to give commands to your party members.
It even works with K.o.t.O.R. or Mass Effect Infiltrator on an iPad with a touch screen... on the Vita you could use sticks, buttons AND the touchscreen.
Ports of older Bioware Games would be possible on the Vita: Baldur's Gate 1 + 2, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars K.o.t.O.R. 1 + 2, Jade Empire, Mass Effect + Dragon Age could be great handheld games.
Or Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas with the tactical "V.A.T.S."-system... you could choose the targeted body part (head, torso, leg, arm..) per touch screen.
