Well thank goodness for that, I was scared there for a minute. Was really worried they would throw away their goodwill over trying to push everyone onto music unlimited.

Let me get this right, you're going to spend a hundred dollars more just so you can play music while you're NOT playing a game(Cause that's how the PS4 would handle that, as the PS3 does)? Assuming the Xbox One still has MP3 support. Assuming the Xbox One's DLNA support is just as bad as the 360s... well it's really bad and not really to useful. At OP, I'm a sad Panda. I use that feature often. PS3 has some nice video filters too that I can't quite replicate on VLC or Media Center Classic. On another note, I ordered an Android Dongle last night. |
$100 includes kinect 2.0 but you conveniently leave that out every time. Actually all the Sony crowd does.
Eh.. I much prefer Xbox 360's DLNA service anyway since you can stream directly. I'm sure Xbox One will have this feature as well.
Not that it matters since my tv support DLNA.

No it doesn't. I'm sure MS will want to see money as well for such a feature.

Why would I want Kinect? I didn't even open the kinect adventures that came with my 360. Hell I couldn't even use Kinect because the room I was in was too small and Kinect couldn't read me...
@KHLovers, I understand what you're saying, but the core of a game machine should be games. This is what the PS3s biggest problem was at and a few years after launch. This has been Sony's message for the PS4 all along. Can it play games? Yes. Does it include new social features useful for gaming? Yes (Something not even MS can claim right now). Everything in the PS4 is about games, hell it isn't even a "Glorified Bluray Player" as the PS3 was called anymore because it's not a good one.

Sony needs to put this feature back. I used this all the time on PS3 and X360. It doesn't make any sense to remove something that currently works and is useful.
While it certainly is disappointing. Don't most of us have DLNA certified TVs these days. I know not every one will but for me this certainly isn't a deal breaker just something we need to keep tweeting Shu about as the console cycle goes on. Definitely not something that cannot be patched in.
I know this sucks for a lot of people. My self i don't have MP'3 stored anywhere. When i listen to music i just use a music service. Music unlimited is actually pretty good. So i guess i'll subscribe again later down the road. Maybe Pandora will work over the web browser, or native app. Seems Yoshida will have it put back in, but everyone do your part and twitter bomb him to speed up the process and let him know it's not a little thing. I've already done my part.
Even the Vita does this..... wtf Sony?

You get to pay Sony for Music Unlimited..... Someone has said the xbox is the same. But I doubt that rumour.
