Forums - PC - Just a question don't know if in the right place (sims 4 related kinda)

So my mum and dad are me are getting a 27 inch Imac for christmas and when we went to the apple store i found out it does have like a disc drive. So how will i play the sims 4 and if there is a disc drive can i still play all my sims 3 game on it? also will my mac have enough ram for the sims 3 and 4?

please move if this is in the wrong place.

I don't really get what you're trying to say but it'll easily run both. Even if there wasn't a disk drive you could buy digitally the game and download it.

YOu mean no disc drive? Use an External dvd drive.. They are cheap.. Or rip the disc as an iso on another computer or and the most easy way: if your game is registered with EA's Origin you can redownload it there:

And your new imac will be fine to run the sims 3

oh sorry i reread the post and I have mixed my words up. I'm trying to say that when i went to look and the iMac's I saw there isn't a place to put in the disc. And by an external disc drive do you mean this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MD564ZM-A-USB-SuperDrive/dp/B008AL9VXI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382876006&sr=8-1&keywords=imac+disc+drive

Yes, but you can use most USB external disc drive: cheaper ones like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SE-208DB-TSBS-Portable-External/dp/B008X0TX0W/ref=sr_1_sc_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1382876139&sr=8-3-spell&keywords=Extrnal+disc+drive

It doesn't have to be the more expensive superdrive.. Just make sure it says mac compatible
