Forums - Sony - Sony Bend working on Unannounced Action/Adventure PS4 game

I've been bitching about this for a long time now. Every single 2013 PS3 first party game should be a Vita game. Every single one. If they did that, Vita would be in a totally different place now, with millions more in the wild and 3rd parties actually having a market there. Instead they overkilled the PS3 with so many games that in most cases they couldn't even sell as well as they should. Stupidity, the guy responsible for this should be fired.

Disagree, that's taking it too far.  PS3 still needed titles to prop it up throughout the year.  But they could've done something like - God of War Q1; The Last of Us Q2; Beyond Q3; freeing up things like Puppeteer, Gran Turismo; Ratchet & Clank and Rain for PS4/Vita.

I agree with you, specially on ratchet & clank, will not buy this game on ps3, but would have on vita or ps4.

Well I still think that way. What did PS3 need these games for? What's the goal? Would it really stop selling? At this point PS3 doesn't need a single thing from 1st party studios, just like the X360. How many 1st party games did it get this year? One? Cause I can only think of Gears of War: Judgement. Did it suddenly stop selling, despite no support and a very high price? And MS didn't have another platform struggling and begging for some love. PS3 didn't need a single 1st party game in 2013 or 2014. Its story is already written, the console is done. Vita and PS4 need support now. 2013 should've belonged totally to Vita, so that 3rd parties would see it as a viable platform and carried the load in 2014, which should on the other hand belong to PS4 in terms of 1st party support. That way Sony would have two healthy young platforms earning them money and with 3rd party support instead of... Instead of selling a few more units of PS3 which mean nothing at this point, cause these people will only buy old used games, while the lost PSV adopters would actually be buying new games and earning Sony money for years to come. This is stupid, irresponsible and will cost Sony millions in the long run.

I believe God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Beyond and GT6 should be the spearhead PSV games and should have never come to PS3. They would sell hardware big time and that is exactly what Sony needs. You really think that games like Puppeteer, Ratcher or Rain would do anything for Vita? They are welcome additions, but wouldn't change the fate of the console. The previous 4 games would be capable of doing just that.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Well, Gran Turismo 6 will make 7-10 million on PS3, it's just makes too much sense to release there.

Ratchet & Clank + Knack would've been overkill for PS4, Insomniac doesn't have PS4 devkits, and they don't develop for Vita, so there is that.

Rain is a Playstation C.A.M.P. project just like Tokyo Jungle was, so it's basicly a a bunch of independent developer, with Sony's help. Altough Sony should've forced their hands to make it a PS4 launch title.

Puppeteer, yeah that should've been a Vita title, as I said numerous times, but they've got Tearaway, so Sony probably was afraid to release two similar titles in a short timeframe on a weak platform, so that's an understandle descision.)

What I feel like is a mistake was really (besides Rain) is let Santa Monica make a new God of War. They've should of made a God of War Vita, the AAA game the Vita desperatly needs. My biggest dream is that the Bluepoint guys get a chance to make their own game, not a port job (their tech seems flawless), and the first game should be a GOW Vita title -or- Heavenly Sword 2 for Vita.

And that brings me swinging back to my first point - Yoshida's incompetence.  He's the higher up in Sony in charge of WWS - he should personally be involved in greenlighting every project from a first or second party studio.  He should know when PS4 is releasing; what games are filling out Vita's 2013 schedule; and should be planning ahead.

So if there's a conflict between Ratchet & Knack - plan ahead.  Contract Insomniac to make a full Ratchet game with a 2 year development time so it releases in 2014 and doesn't clash with Knack.   Have Japan Studio work on something that isn't a 2D platformer if it's going to conflict with Tearaway.  Have Polyphony make Gran Turismo 6 Prologue for PS4's launch, so that they can release the full game on PS4's holiday 2014 install base; put Evolution on a Vita game in the meantime so they don't clash with Gran Turismo.

The guy should be overseeing things; and at the moment things just seem like a circus with little to no order, which is really frustrating.

edit: And hell, "Insomniac don't develop for Vita" isn't an excuse.  They're a second party studio.  Contract them to do it.  Give them a PS4 dev kit if they don't have one already.  Blimey.

This is as shortsighted as it gets. You don't make 1st party games to earn money. You make them to convince people to buy your platform, so that you earn money from 3rd party games later on. That's why they are bundled so heavily and so early. GT6 on PS3 makes no sense whatsoever and it won't come close to those levels of sales you're talking about. It's already too late in the generation. It took GT5 4 years to reach 10 mil and that was during the high time of the platform. Now with the hype focusing on next gen, with a next gen Forza and other racing sims and people probably expecting a PS4 version of GT6 to come soon either way this game won't sell that many copies to justify this move.

It's a wasted opportunity to move hardware and that is exactly what Sony has to do now with the Vita. It is a bad , irresponsible and shortsighted move.
