Forums - Microsoft - Here’s How the Xbox One Looks When it Fails to Launch a Game

by Giuseppe Nelva Oct 26th 2013 12:53PM 3

Demo consoles are subject to a lot of stress and wear and tear, and they’re normally running unfinished and unpolished code, so it’s definitely normal for them to fail, once in a while.

Today twitter user F. Van Derken Derren tweeted a picture showing exactly that, the display on an Xbox One demo console after failing to launch Forza Motorsport 5. From the look of the demo station it seems to be one of the units available at Best Buy in Canada.

You can find it below for the posterity, as there’s little doubt (or at least we hope) that not many will get to see this kind of screen when the console will be in our living rooms.

I wish they had some x1's around me so I could try it out... Mostly interested in seeing if the kinect has really improved as much as people say...

A new piece of hardware going through issues? Wow I never thought that was possible.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Must have overheating issues.

Still waiting to see a blue screen (not in a mean way, per curiosity)

Why do people seem to feel the need to make themselves look like wankers when they have pictures taken?

Ironic. I remember you posting the same thing about the PS4 and some french journalists.

What's your take on this happening before launch? I hope it's not a sign of things to come. Do you think it'll get ironed out? Or does this fall in the 5% fail category of electronics?

To be fair, it could be nothing. It could be something.

Yes. But that's always the case. Nothing is set in stone. This is just how it is right now, according to this article.

Well "slow news day" is a much better response than

Would you mind not reporting me, i get nervous when you do. Thanks.

Thank you for the laugh. It's expected of you to claim such things, we know you too well buddy. You should be permabanned if what you say there was right, but we still have to tolerate your "contribution" as you seem to have a ban-free card.
