How do the available Ebay auctions compare to last gen.
Currently ps4 gets 5100 results and Xbox One 1827

Maybe too many people are selling pre-orders this gen to get the high prices, plus we're still a long way off from "last chance to get one for christmas"

Fine by me, more stock in stores when Ebay scalpers get discouraged.

Good, I'm glad people are smarter than to buy them off ebay. I hate it when people do what you're doing.

Only nets over a 100 dollars weeks before there is a demand problem. Oh me oh my how terrible.

Ebay price is a function of demand over availability.
Seeing how right now there isn't a clear idea on what demand will be for next gen consoles and what stock will be available, buying to resell one on ebay is probably like buying a lottery ticket and expecting to win...

One thing for sure though, what ever the demand/availability you will not see the kind of speculation there was with the Wii as Sony and Microsoft will do a much better job managing availability than Nintendo did..

I would actually not be surprised if the majority of the people that bought to resell, hoping to make a profit, end up loosing a money. There was much so much money made of reselling on ebay last gen that it is tempting more people to play the game this year and this will bite them back

2. Yeah unfortunately there won't be shortages.  It creates headlines for the product and profit for the consumer.

Expensive and over produced

Yeah I was going to post my PS4 pre-sale soon too. If I can net at least a free Wii U game out of it I'll be worth it. Not hard to preorder, pickup and ship. Use eBay all the time, so I'm used to its processes.

btw, anyone bashing resellers have to check yo selves. If it were a rip-off people wouldn't buy it. We're providing a service to lazy dumb people who don't take time to pre-order or patience to buy when in normal stock.

But yeah, I think demand is not down, just more satisfied as these two put out a lot more pre-orders than they did last gen. I'd bet they both do more than PS360 did.

EDIT: I'm going to list min to sell by Sunday Nov 9th. That should be close enough to raise demand due to marketing by Sony.

looks like prices falling even farther today. i saw ps4's going for only 500+ dollars. xb1's only 600+

At those prices you will not make any profit at all.

However, maybe it is just because they are only preorders and not real consoles on launch day. I dont know because I've never followed preorder console sales on ebay before.
