Forums - Sales - New IP Toukiden (PSV/PSP) Nearly Reaches 500,000 Units Sold!

The new IP Toukiden, from Tecmo Koei, has nearly passed the 500,000 units sold mark with 470,000 copies be recorded as sold (shipped) across the PSV and PSP in Japan. Using VGChartz numbers this would leave about 80k sold digitally which I would assume would be mostly on Vita. The strong sales of Toukiden has also lead to record earnings for Tecmo from April-September.

Toukiden will actually be releasing in NA/EU early next year exclusively on Vita.

PlayStation Vita Japanese Software Sales (Media Create Physical/ Famitsu Digital)

Koei seem very happy!

Really positive sign. The Vita is getting software and people are buying it. Even though some of these games have PSP versions, that still sets up the next version, hopefully only on the Vita.

I think it's safe to say that the Vita is safe in Japan.

Yeah good news. We have seen a number of releases come out in Japan for the Vita and hopefully this leads to a long-term rise in sales rather than just a short blip.

Vita saved!.... in Japan.

Really happy for Koei. They must like those numbers.
