That's bad isn't it? More than the PS3? I hate slow boot up times.
Isn't Xbone like 6-7 seconds to boot?
You realize that's cold boot right?, pretty much for the rest of the consoles connected-to-your-setup life would be booting from standby, which is near instant.

This is not strange, it's the superior way of saying how loud something is.

I cold boot mine every day.
anyway, 20 seconds start up doesnt make a difference to me.
| sergiodaly said: i don't mind if its "noisy" if the result is a cool console... because Sony didn't do a good job in the first PS3 (the FAT with 90nm GPU) the result is YOLD cases. i had 2 YOLD and i would rather have more noise instead of a dead console. i really hope this 28mn APU has better thermal efficiency... i think it will have 90W TDP joined by the GDDR5 modules, a good heatsink paired with a silent fan can deal with this; but the fan control profile don't look like a aggressive one **... hope is enough. **(temp 10 vs 60 minutes of operation, do they specify what type of operation we are talking about?) |
the ylod problem was very low quality thermal grease and low quality lead-free solder
after some month to a year the thermal grease would start to deteriorate and the lead-free solder was losing viscosity faster than it should leading to irreversible damages at relatively low temperatures (the automatic system shut down was programmed for higher temperatures)
the cooling system itself of the PS3 was very good and after I exchanged the thermal grease to a high quality one it hardly ever was audible - I gave my launch PS3 to my brother though and switched to a model with half the power consumption

sound pressure hardly is a good method to show how loud sth is, as different frequencies are perceived way differently (individual differences in sound perception are existent, but small)

~30 seconds last time I read... this is the full boot... not the stand by feature that make you Instant Play.

What, Xbone takes 30 seconds from closed power to boot up OS? That's rotten.
