With GT6, Forza 5, and NFS coming this holiday, I think this is a good decision. Probably a minor part of the reason why The Crew was delayed also. Not worth risking new franchises putting them head to head with the biggest games in the genre.

This shows how they rushed to release next gen this year. spring 2014 i believe was originally planned by both companies.

well i suppose but next gen versions will be prettier and in the case of AC4 will have more content on PS4 at least. 

Presumably you want AAA because they push the system graphically? So why buy a current gen version?

If its just gameplay then what does it matter if its AAA or indie, i suspect alot of the indie games will be more fun in the gameplay department.

Disappointing. That a somewhat promoted launch title ends up being delayed by several months reflects really poorly on the studio making it.

OTOH as the signature exclusive racer for PS4 for at least a couple of years until GT7 this game needs to impress. I have a feeling (totally unsubstantiated) that the team assessing the game were not terribly impressed and the developers have to to a major overhaul.

If they delayed it long before launch then it wouldn't be an issue. Issue is they delayed a few weeks ago before launch. This makes the bad news.

Yeah its not cool if they have knowingly mislead people, we will never know tho.

It's strange, don't you think, that if this game was released in late 2015 and then they said, sorry we can't release it until Early 2016, no one would bat an eye.

And so they shouldn't, I'd prefer a game finished, than a mess. This goes for Watch Dogs, Kinect Rivals and any other release. Besides, it's just means for early next year when there are near to no games being released in early 2014, there is another to be released.

at e3 they said ~40% complete, so they knew it can not completed at launch yet they advertise so much about it being launch title. kinect rivals on other hand got delay as soon as MS found they can't finish it on launch.

Makes sense to me. Why compete directly with the established Forza? It also clearly wasn't finished in my eyes. Sure the gameplay videos looked AMAZING but it was like the same track every time. Also wasn't much hyped or talk about the features extensively. Should be for the best. 2014 is looking great every day.

As for launch, I still have a ton to play:

Ps4: at launch I'm getting Killzone, BF4, AC4, Resogun.
Ps3: still have to play Ratchet into the nexus as well as Beyond.
