Pretty harsh reviews. The game still looks good to me though, and I'm not a big Sonic fan. Maybe that's the problem.

I've only watched the video review, but what did you find poor and unprofessional?

Regardless, IGN seem pretty much on the money with their score for the game so far, compared to other reviewers.

I felt the same way about their Soul Sacrifice review, when they got Colin to review the game (who clearly hated the genre) instead of Keza.

But the score he gave the game seemed pretty on the general consensus, so I can't fault him for that.

If sonic wants to do 2D he must do 2D. If sonic wants to do 3D he must do 3D. He hasn't proven to be able to do both at the same time except for Colors. Sonic isn't Mario. You can't apply Galaxy ideas to Sonic... it doesn't work that way. Sonic needs to quit trying to be Mario and be Sonic. I miss those days where they came up with their own mechanics and each was just as good as the other. This partnership thing is ruining Sonic all over again... and JUST after Colors and Generations... shucks!

its unprofessional because the game didnt get the score he wanted it too. SO it must be wrong never mind him not playing it.

I havent played it either, but it seems that it was trying to be Galaxy but not in a good way. and the controls were still a bit sluggish.

I love how some people say, Sonic was not always about speed blah blah blah, yeah but he wasnt about crappy controls either and that has been an issue for years now.

Sonic is a tough entity to control in a 3D world. He's definitely better off in 2D.

Finally someone gets it! When he tries something different it doesnt work and IMHO this has been an issue for a while. Unleashed, we have these great daytime levels but why not turn him into some creature and make terrible boring god of war gameplay and have it take up most of the game, people will love that!

It was a problem in the adventure series too, when you werent using Sonic the game kinda sucked, why did Tails plane turn into a mech and why is it stuck in some bad 3rd person shooter?

Sonic lost its way long ago.

More or less this was the score I was expecting. I still don't feel 3D Sonic as a whole even with Generations is anything more than a decent game.

I have to disagree. The speed leveles on Sonic adventure 2 were a joy to play. I dont know what was wrong with those that led to them trying to redefine the gameplay.

Of course, 2D Sonic is pretty good aswell though.

There will never be a 3D version that is as beloved as the top three. You can rant that would just make it that much more crazy.
