Forums - Nintendo - Has anybody tried any Fairy Pokemon?

I am trying to fill my 6th slot in my party and I'm debating on 3 pokemon.  Two which are Fairy which is appealing to me.  Other is ice which i like.

Gardevoir
Dedenne
Aurorus

I really like Dedenne but I have no idea if he is any good.  Has anybody tried him?  He looks weak but I could be wrong.

Also how is Aurorus?  He looks slow so that worries me.

Gardevoir seem like the best of the three all around or is the other two good?

mawile is the best (mega mawile) Steel/Fairy type is a great combo

klefki is fairly solid. other than that - i've avoided using fairies

I would abandon Pokémon you want except for Sylveon. Sylveon is so OP!

yeah but i already got two megas on my team.  Chances are that i would rarely use Mega Mawile and Mawile is kind of under-powered unless they gave him a buff on this game.

Mawile is def the most appealing to me as far as looks go thouugh

EDIT: Oh wow, youre right it is a nice combo.  Nothing hardly effects it.  Though im still not convinced if it is good or not

How does Mawile do without mega?

From those three, Dedenne is the weakest link. While it does have a base speed stat of ~105, his SpA is ~80 and every other stat is below 80.

Aurorus, while being slow, gives you an excellent coverage against both Flying, Dragon, Grass, Water (Freeze Dry is Super Effective against Water types, 4x Damage against Bulky Kingdra and Palkia), Ice, Fire, Bug and Ground. You can't go wrong with it.

Gardevoir is the only one in that list that can mega evolve, and that in itself is awesome as heck. Fairy typing covers for it's usual weakness to Dark, while adding weakness to Poison and Steel. Gardevoir's drawback is that it's moveset is very restricted, even TM wise. You won't be able to cover for it's Steel weakness at all (unless you count Focus Blast, which is too unreliable).

Personally I'd go with Aurorus. That huge amount of coverage is much more useful than the ability of going mega but having a limited movepool from which to manage.

You seem to know what you're talking about.  How about Mawile?  Is it ok without Mega or is it completely reliant on Mega?

mawile is an okay pokemon especially since it got buffed this gen thanks to fairy typing. Also mega mawile is the strongest pokemon in the game... Yes even way stronger (in terms of raw power) than ever legendary pokemon.

Would you recommend Mawile over Gardevoir?  I have Mega Absol as a sweeper so there will be a lot of times when Mawile will not be able to mega unless I choose to not use Mega Absol

Mawile in itself is an okay poke. Steel/Fairy is a good defensive typing, as they both annul most of each other weaknesses (0x Poison damage, 1x Steel Damage, 1x Fight damage) and Mawile takes advantage of it only if it goes Mega.

With an absurd Base stat spread of 50/105/195/50/160/30, and access to Huge Power which essentially doubles it's attack stat, Mega Mawile can have over 660 Attack with maxed EVs/IVs and benefitial nature, meaning it can OHKO most things, if it can get it's moves out. It's 30 Speed and 50 HP stats mean that the thing is a massively slow Glass Cannon, because even with it's mega defense and SpD, one good STAB Fire Blast, Earth Power, Earthquake and such can OHKO it easily as well.

It's an amazing Mega when properly used, but it can be countered just as easy as well. I wouldn't recommend it if you've already have a team of Megas or if you're not planning to build your team around it as well.
