Nothing that the PS4 did. Nothing at all. Plenty that Sony has done, though.
They managed to wrestle my loyalty from Nintendo with the PS1 and proved the value of that system tenfold; they then followed it up with the best selling console of all time and one of the best and most versatile game lists ever seen on a console with the PS2.
Then, even past an atrocious start with the PS3, showing the arrogance that comes from over a decade of dominating the market, the PS3 proved to be an absolute powerhouse with what is easily the best overall game and feature list of the current generation.
I'm not buying the PS4 for its specs, games, or promises, I'm buying the PS4 because even when sony fails, they still manage to impress me, something neither competitor can claim.
I already have a WiiU. PSWiiU is my combo going into next gen. I tried the microsoft line twice in a row and I just don't see the appeal. Xbox had HAlo, and that was pretty much it in the way of exclusives, and the only appealing 360 games were the trifecta of Halo, Gears, and Forza...and Fable. Not enough to buy a console for. Every other game on that system is on PC.
I may get an Xbox One, but history has proven through 17 years that Sony is worth investing in for my console gaming needs, and Nintendo will continue to do its own thing.
Sony - Great exclusives list, impressive multiplats, PS+ is awesome, indie love, and hardware.
Nintendo - Best exclusive franchises including smash Bros, Virtual Console, and nostalgia.
Microsoft - Machismo dudebro games and a charge to play online. No thanks.
That's why I'm getting a PS4 and already have a WiiU.
