Just another reason to wait on next gen. One of the few games of interest to me.

Especially when said 3rd party has the 5th most pre-ordered game bundled with your launch console. They are probably going to move those people over to assassin's creed or something. Not acceptable really, whoever has pre-ordered this console bundle should have their pic of any launch game. |
Interesting. How will these new developments effect Sony's awesome PS4 preorder numbers if their most popular bundle no longer exists. They could replace it with either another Ubisoft game (AC4) or some other third party game being released for next gen consoles. To bad niether console isn't BC compatible or we could have seen Beyond TS bundles, GT6 bundles, etc. for the PS4 and something similiar for the XBO.
Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)
Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U
Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY
And I know this is in a Sony thread but this also effects Microsoft as well. How does Microsoft feel about this?

This is good news in a bad situation. This is the bundle I pre-ordered but as long as I get an actual console AND I get a copy of the game when it does come out IDC that it is delayed. Though a free year of PS+ would be a nice way to compensate those of us affected ☺.

We should all watch, with interest, the Pre-order chart here.... |
Do you really think this will affect preorder numbers? It will be very few people who outright cancel their preorder for this. Especially when they'll have to wait for Watch Dogs AND a console if they make such a move. Besides Sony and Ubisoft will do something to make up for it.

I meant for comedy value. I wonder if the always accurate pre-order chart will even notice and keep adding pre-orders? |
Of course it will.
i feel bad for anyone that preordered it and paid in full. Ubisoft have been doing strange stuff, first Rayman now this.

You really think any studio is going to have Sony and Microsoft reps looking over their shoulders while they work? All either console manufactuer can do is to take the word of the publisher that the project is on schedule. I'm sure they're given updates but that's still information controlled by the publisher. I highly doubt that Ubisoft was saying, "no, it's no where close to finished," but Sony demanded a bundle anyway. It's much more likely that Ubisoft was giving constant reassurances right until they dropped the "not ready" bomb. The only thing you can really argue here is that console manufactuers perhaps shouldn't make launch day bundles but that probably won't ever happen.

In your strange world, Sony should pay for mistakes other companies make????
I don't know how the contracts were laid out with companies that are supposed to bring out launch games. I'm pretty sure any reasonable company would have a list of penalties written into a contract, particularly when it comes to crucial events...
