They can definitely survive the group phase and since most teams outside of Europe suck they might even reach the Quarter-Finals. That's as far as I see them go.

Indeed but Netherlands and Belgium on paper should have destroyed Japan. Japan has some great players but not what NL/BE have. But it is good that they lost/not won against Japan because they can learn from them. Especially the third goal against Belgium showed what I mean.
