Plus, the Xbox One is going to absolutely bomb competing with Wii U and PS4.

as much as I would like that... the Wii U will end a very distant third this generation. This 83k a week would be less than 9mil sales a year. In fact, it would only be about 6million a year. The Wii U will only sell about 3.5mil this holiday

Holidays always see huge increases in sales. Its gonna sell more than that. What this week shows is that there is demand for the system. Software is making a difference.

Yes... if it didn't see a huge increase it would struggle to pass 1 million....

People used the same line of reasoning with the last weeks sales figures. And the week before that. Shit aint stagnant.

Sorry, but obviously shit aint stagnant... I'm not an idiot. Nothing I said was factually incorrect. If you sell 83k units on average during the year you will sell only about 6million a year. The math isnt that hard to grasp. Considering the Wii U is coming off of a price shuffle and a big name game launch sales will drop below 83k next week. The system would not have sold 83k on average during this year at this price.

I think this is the largest increase in hardware sales since launch... and it was because of an HD remake. Imagine what will happen with NEW game releases.

The Wind Waker HD is just that good along with the new value proposition.  Free portable tv, free online, free games, low low price, and a rock-solid line up.

Honestly I expected a minor boost. I'm a little surprised. Good for wii u.
Hopefully that will hold up to the launch of Mario.

Xbox One has an audience it caters to very well, and will have a steady stream of games coming at one point, you can't say the same for WiiU with the third party situation as it is.

PS4 will rule, but Xbox One won't bomb, MS won't allow it and they're in a position to make sure it doesn't this time.

I guess I have to postpone crossing out the price cut for a little bit longer.

No, you can cross it off. Sales have just been bad for so long these look great by comparison. However, these sales would only represent about a 6million a year sales which is really bad. I mean, do you think a year ago someone said the Wii U would be at 83k after a zelda release and price reduction on the brand new console people would think it was good?

Perception^

They need to get the system moving. they're seeing progress, much more than they were expecting.

You can feel free to still be negative if you want to. Justify it as so if next weeks sales nosedive.

WiiU has more stock^

All it needs is demand.
