Forums - PC - Steam Capcom Sale - What is Worth it?

I was wondering if Lost Planet is still something to buy after so long a time. I plan to get Onimusha and Ether Vapor, since those have old school styles that I like.

I enjoyed Lost Planet 1 and 2, but this was back in the day when I didn't hate videogames. Onimusha 3 was damn good from memory, no idea if the PC port is any good.

Also personally hoping for 75% off sales for Revelations and Remember me. I wouldn't spend more than $15 on those.

I saw one of the Street Fighter IV versions for 5 €, the arcade edition or something like that. I was tempted to get it.

I'll have to check the others.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I wouldnt recommend the Steam version since it has GFWL - knowing Capcom....they probably wont patch the game considering the fact that Ultra Street Fighter IV will be coming out in 2014.

Oh, I didn't know that! Thanks.

I'll pass then.

Thanks for the info. I thoguht of getting that too, but not anymore. You think RE 5 has the same GFWL bullcrapp?

Bionic Commando's Rearmed: This is an old school game so I'd recommend it to you the highest.

DMC4
DMC (The new one)... It's a good game on par with 1 and 4 imo, if you are a DMC nerd then some score counters will bother you, if you just want a fun hack and slash it fits the bill.

DMC3... I'd play on PCSX2 if you can because port is aweful so not this.

RES5 (If you like co-op, or Mercenaries, Sheva's AI is terrible, and it's not scary)
RES6 (Only if you like Mercenaries, it has best mercenary modes and multiplayer imo, but the campaign is kinda crappy).

Bionic Commando's A great old school game.

Is there no way to fix DMC3 port with mods or something? Kinda like how Dark souls had its fix for its resolution and FPS?

I tried emulating DMC3 via PCSX2 but there are some noticeable visual glitches and its a pain to change from one type of setting to the next. (i.e. Sun glaring and the Cerberus room being full of fog more than how it is suppose to be).

I don't know, I honestly haven't played it since it's PS2 days. I bought the PC version and it was crap so I just gave up.
I'm not that big of a DMC fan and I believe this was ported by the same people that ported Re4 before Capcom ports started getting good. The modding community fixed and Re4 with upgraded textures, lighting and everything but rumble. Don't believe there's much with DMC3 but I could be wrong.

And I haven't played or tried for years and obviously I've never played it on emulator obviously. When was the last revision you tried on emulator?

Forgot the revision # but it was about 3-4 months ago when I last tested the PCSX2 emulator - I believe it was from a recent release at the time of course.

NVM I see it: r5462

yeah I doubt it would be fixed by then... This is one where I'd imagine the PS3 port is by far the best (ofcourse they could have ported that poorly too :P.

RE5 on PC overall (Steam and non-Steam) has GFWL and there's no indication whether or not Capcom will be patching it or not (same goes with every other game that originally had GFWL for PC).

Capcom games on Steam (including the DLC expansions, etc) that have GFWL include the following

-Resident Evil 5
-Resident Evil Operation Racoon City
-Street Fighter X Tekken
-All current versions of Street Fighter IV (Vanilla, Super and Super Arcade)
-Dead Rising 2
-Dead Rising 2 Off the Record
-Lost Planet 2

^ I would not recommend buying any of these games unless you plan to buy them and play them now and never look back after finishing them lol.

All of the latest games such as Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil Revelations, DmC Devil May Cry, Remember Me, etc DO NOT HAVE GFWL so they are safe to purchase without worrying about them becoming unplayable/incapable of saving/broken MP/etc.

Note kinda on topic: The only companies who managed to take action upon the removal of GFWL are 2K games with Bioshock 2 and Warner Brothers on Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY and Batman Arkham City GOTY.

Bioshock 2 now has achievements and everyone who had purchased Bioshock 2 before October 1st 2013 now has the Minerva's Den DLC implemented for free.

Trust me...there's loads of other games that also have GFWL and NEEDS to be patched but it is unknown if they will even bother...such as GTAIV and its Episodes, Dark Souls and many other games.

That's a fantastic post! Thanks for all the info.

I ended up getting DMC (the new one), Dmc4, Onimusha, Satazius (never heard of it before but it looks like Gradius and Darius, so I got to support that) and Ether Vapor (yup, I luv Shmups).
