Forums - Microsoft - dead rising 3 not coming to germany

KHlover said:

Yeah. If "banning" is used correctly in the article you won't even be able to legally import the game into Germany.

Indexed games are not to be advertised in any way in Germany, but you can still legally possess them.

Banned games are to be confiscated and destroyed. Mere possession is illegal.

Oh, it didn't say "banned" in the article or not.  I was just typing that sentence in a rush I guess and didn't realise the difference.

Though, it'll be interesting to see which one of those applies here.  Doesn't really say either way in the article.

can they still buy it digitally?

maybe if you will be able to switch to another account. won't be available with a german account, that's for sure.

but everyone will be able to import. there is a good amount of people doing this for all mature titles, because even if it says uncut, you can't trust the developers/publishers anymore.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

must be really funny explaining to whichever german censorship oh so serious jury how DR3 works :

"here you are supposed to combine tools, vehicles, clothes, and household items for maximum damage"

"here you are wearing a tight woman´s jean while harpooning the hostage"

"here you are wearing megaman's costume while eating pudding and watching Jerry die"

too bad they took out the kinky picture feature that was available in the first DR - would have made the ban worthwhile

Like the others Dead Rising

Why dont the UK ban any games ever lol

Man, that sucks. Especially considering its shaping up really awesome.

why movies do not get banned, why germany even care what people play

green blood will folow?

I understand it's the decapitation aspect (particularly cutting heads off) that offends the German ratings board. Ninja Gaiden etc also had similar problems being released there. So green blood wouldn't be a fix.

They do. Though usually after negotiating certain levels of censorship, the games eventually make it.

Manhunt 1 or 2 was entirely banned in the UK at one point. I forget which, but it required a censored version to get it past the BBFC.

Didn't some Xbox guy say that people can change the Xbox Game Store location through the settings?
