To be fair, I don't think this is actually that bad

It is fairly standard practice to make engineering students work in industry to get experience during their degree course. The university has just done a poor job at finding experience for their students.... And this is China, a lack of choice is not uncommon

This is reporting for a single college program at 1 factory.  if you think stuff like this isnt going on at other foxconn plants you are VERY ignorant

Yes ill agree there, the article is about where foxconn got caught. so thats where all the bad publicity is though.   I have just seen this story so much since yesterday and a bunch of forums, and people(not necesarily you, just some) like to try and say this is somehow sony's fault, and That only the PS4 is built via this practice. This is all Foxconn and they have been using childlabour/interns/slaves  for YEARS

I would love a thread regarding foxconn practices, but i think we need to keep the actual products out of the discussion because they are irrelevant as many major companies use them, so to single out anyone isnt fair.

I think I remember a company being sued for this type of thing. If they were performing the work of actual staffed employees, then they are entitled to compensation.

That article is inaccurate.  But great job posting it from REDDIT.

Flextronic is actually assembling 90% of the Xbox One's, with Foxconn getting 10%.

The article you linked in your comment is inaccurate for a number of reasons, but the biggest one of all is that Microsoft didn't release to manufacturing the Xbox One until August.
