Forums - Nintendo - Wii U million sellers by end of fiscal year?

I would like a 3rd party title hit 1 million... possibly Zombie U, Batman, AC or COD. Just to prove to people they can sell well on a Nintendo platform.

I am currently interested in...

Batman:AO
Deus Ex
Zelda:WW
Wii Sports Club
Wii Fit U
AC:IV
Watch Dogs

none of those games have a chance in hell of hitting 1 mil before by March 2014. Maybe Zombi U hell last COD didnt even do a quarter mil.

Which games do u believe will sell over 1 million by March 31, 2014?

Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U have already passed that mark.

Super Mario 3D World

Sonic Lost World

Wii Party U

Wii Fit U

Wind Waker HD

Pikmin 3

Mario & Sonic Olympic Games

Lego City Undercover

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

And possibly ZombiU

Super Mario 3D World-  Yeah.  Pretty easily.

Sonic Lost World-  Probably not.  Colors took a good while to reach a million on a larger install base.  Sonic Lost World looks better, and will likely sell better in the long run, but it will take a while.

Wii Party U-  Yep.  Bundled with a controller and bundled with system in Japan.

Wii Fit U-  Definitely, but the question is how many will be retail.  Nintendo is offering a free full one month trial, and buying a fit meter allows you to keep it.  So, I don't know how that will effect sales.  If we count digital though, it's an easy call.

Wind Waker HD-  The fact that it's bundled will kill a lot of physical sales.  Between digital and retail yes, but I'm not so sure about retail only.

Pikmin 3- At 500K and selling at a relatively decent pace.  Holidays should boost it to.  It'll be a close call but I think it'll make it.

Mario & Sonic Olympic Games-  I don't think so.  According to VGC numbers, Mario and Sonic for 3DS still hasn't hit this, although I believe it's undertracked by something like 300K.  Even so, the 3DS has a much larger install base, so it's hard to see Mario and Sonic hitting that number this fast.

Lego City Undercover-  I don't think the bundle is going to be a huge boost.  There will be other bundles in Europe, and this one will probably be a less popular one.  At about 500K but Lego games have nice legs and this will be a good holiday game.  Should hit.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze-  Really depends on how the Wii U does over the holiday.  If the Wii U install base gets to about 10 million by that time, this should happen.  So, I think yes.

And possibly ZombiU-  I don't see this game getting half a million sales by March next year.

ZombiU has 600,000 sales I think^

Need I say more?

Super Mario 3D World

Yes - It's mario, need I say more?

Sonic Lost World

Not by then but it will be around there

Wii Party U

Comes with a controller, I think it will do it.

Wii Fit U

Should be able to

Wind Waker HD

Doubt it

Pikmin 3

Will be around there but not quite

Mario & Sonic Olympic Games

No

Lego City Undercover

No

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

Has over a month, I'm pretty sure it will do over 1m by then

And possibly ZombiU

Now that big hitters start to come, I doubt this game will get much more sales.

Besides NintendoLand and New Super Mario Bros. U, I'd say Super Mario 3D World is a given and The Wind Waker HD is likely as well.

Then Wii Party U has a good shot at it, as well as Wii Fit U but to a lesser extend because of the new way of distributing. I think LEGO City has a chance if it's lucky and has a good holiday, same goes for one of the Just Dances. Donkey Kong will be released too late, but could be close still.

I don't see any of the others having a real chance. Mario & Sonic at the Olympics won't, Sonic Lost World won't, ZombiU definitely won't. Also, games like Skylanders, Disney Infinity and Game & Wario won't. I don't think any of the new batch of third party games; Call of Duty, Batman and Assassin's Creed will have a chance either. Pikmin 3 will make it lifetime, but not yet in this fiscal year. And Wonderful 101? 100k at best .

Super Mario 3D World will for sure. It's hard to say how many units it will sell, but I think it will be the best selling Wii U game by then.

Sonic Lost World? I think not. It will be lucky to sell 250,000 by then.

Wii Party U? Maybe, but it depends on how the Wii U sells. I think it will be around 500,000-550,000

Wii Fit U? Probably not. Like I said before it depends on how the Wii U sells, but I don't really see it moving more than 400,000 copies.

Wind Waker HD? Yes. I think it will be somewhere around 1,250,000-1,350,000.

Pikmin 3? Yes. I think it will make the 1,000,000 mark by then.

Mario & Sonic Olympic Games? No. I think it will be closer to 300,000 copies by then.

Lego City Undercover? Maybe. It depends if the Lego City Undercover bundle sells well, and if the game gets a price drop. I think 800,000-900,000 is more realistic.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze will only be out for a few weeks before March 31, 2014. I don't think that's enough time for 1 million copies to sell, but if the Wii U user base grows a lot over the holiday season it could very well sell a million.

ZombiU? Nope. I don't really see it selling more than 700,000 copies.

Predictions! By the end of 2014... PS4: 15 million +, Wii U: 12 million, XOne: 9.5 million!
