"WHITTEN: Yes! The Play and Charge kit includes a rechargeable battery and micro-USB cable, with a charging indicator light. It will be available at launch for $24.99."

Wait, I don't understand what this means. It doesn't come with a rechargeable battery in the XO box? That can't be right, can it? Or is this just a replacement if needed?

No that's right, it's just like the 360 with the batts although I'm unfamiliar with what the kit costs for the 360.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I didn't know that.  I just assumed the controller would be rechargeable.  That's kind of lame, to be honest.  A way to keep the XO price down a bit, though, I guess.

Once you go eneloops you never go back.
They last me a good 10+ days of 10+ hour playing before the batteries die from my past experience.

It's just that simple.

pretty much but i gotta say sony's built in recharables is such an amazing feature.  i swear you can't buy decent recharables anywhere.  i absolutely loathed the persistant battery swapping i had to do with my wiimotes.

the 20min day-1 download surprises me.  must be a pretty big patch.  my internet isn't particularly fast and i could download ~3Gb from psn in 20 minutes.  the patch must be at around a gig or so.

Yeah, it seems to be a real big deal to a lot of people but I see it as a minor annoyance at most. As MonstaMack said, Eneloops FTW. I've been using them for years for all of my AAA and AA battery needs around the house, they really are great IMO.

Heck, I was wondering if they will support even Direct TV. They don't mention it anywhere in their stuff.

Isn't DirectTV a separate tuner?  Does it use HDMI? Then it should, and you should be use your voice to change the channels.

Notice I said, should, cause I don't know for certain.

Yes, it's HDMI and a seperate tuner.  It's just that they always just say that they support cable.  With so many millions of Satellite people out there, I would think they would talk about it.  The XB1 has an IR blaster, but does it do RF?  The remote system for Direct TV is RF.  Maybe that's why they don't bring it up.

I have not read anything saying it does RF.  So I would assume not.

Anyway to get a some kind of 'mouse' blaster like they have for VCR's to control cable boxes?  One that converts, then rebeams the signal.  I would think you would need something like that to use a Harmony Remote (like the PS3 has a blue-tooth thing from the harmony's infa red to do the same thing - convert the signal.)

Or can you get an IR box?

Yes, DirecTV is big - but since they have a long history with NFL they might be a little peeved at Xbox (speculation.)  But if they could connect to the feed - then you could get your listings and everything through the Xbox One.  Seems like they should sell packages together.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
