Idea Factory, the company behind Hakuoki and Hyperdimension Neptunia, have opened an international branch, named Idea Factory International, Inc., which is based in California.

“As it increases the volume of various content it wishes to make available globally, including video games, animation, and social apps, Idea Factory International, Inc. intends to focus on providing general and overall information regarding such Idea Factory properties to North American and European fans, as well as strengthen the Idea Factory brand around the globe,” the company’s statement reads.

A website for Idea Factory International, Inc. will go live at this link in the future. The company’s CEO is Mr. Harusato Akenaga, who was the former head of NIS America.

Good to see Idea Factory get an international branch, but Im worried for the future of NIS and NISA.

This reminds me of the whole Working Designs leaving Sega high and dry situation. All because Sega gave them a shitty booth location at a convention. Working Designs localized RPGs for Sega consoles no more.

Now half of NISA's games might be taken away with this move. Looks like they will need to start making more of their own IPs or find another small developer's pool of titles to localize from.

Well, this confirms the rumors pretty much.

NIS had a mass exodus to idea factory after the bosses tried to mess with everyones paychecks.

I expect we will see new strategy RPG's coming from idea factory in the future.

Great...now if only Idea Factory would make good games !

Nis basically created a bunch of subsidary studios (like SEGA back in the day) and the employees worked a lot of overtime at the subsidaries

Nis than "swallowed" the subsidaries again into the main company (because of mismanagement ?) and refused to pay the employees for the overtime and they had to start at the basic level (of payment) for newly hired people (because they technically "are" new employees)
