Forums - Nintendo - Who wants Advance Wars for 3DS?

While the games released prior to this in Japan, dating all the way back to the Famicom, we got two Advance Wars games on the GBA and two Advance Wars games on the DS, but it's been more than two years since the launch of the 3DS and we still haven't received one game.

Call this an Advance Wars appreciation thread if you will.  Did any of you like  the previous titles in the series?  Is anyone else interested in another Advance Wars game?

I've always thought it was a really good series.  I'm an RPG fan and turn based strategy games are just TRPGs with more balance.  Advance Wars always had the whole, this beats that, but is weak against that, or can't attack that, but can do this, etc, and there's a lot of strategy involved.  Since the very first game they also included a map creator so that players would have an infinite amount of replayability by being able to create their own maps.

Here's one of  the maps I created on Advance Wars.  If any of you are also Ogre Battle fans, you might appreciate this.  I've actually edited it since since there's a few mistakes in the design.  You'll also see that there are places that aren't in Ogre Battle, like the structure to the south having no corresponding city in the same map on Ogre Battle. Also pictured below is the map from Ogre Battle.

The map is almost entirely balanced, with a one or two space advantage for player two.  Since player one will move first, the player  two advantage doesn't matter.

Oh dear god, yes! I've been wanting one ever since 3DS was announced. I do recall Intelligent Systems stating a little while ago that they'd be up for a new AW...

I definitely would like to see an Advance Wars on the 3DS. I've played the game before and it was really good.

Me! ME! But for Christ Sake, I want to see the game with its original atmosphere and characters, not this horrible sequel.

I thought Days of Ruin was the best in the series. The fact they actually took storytelling seriously made it feel closer to a Fire Emblem game, by far my favorite Nintendo IP.

Urgh!

But something positive about Days of Ruin was that it was legitimately difficult. There were some battles that you could sink hours in it, trying to defeat your adversary. Not a game for everyone.

I own Days of Ruin, just haven't played it. I know it has online multiplayer and have wondered if you can you play custom maps over wifi or only the preset maps?

I've only played Dual Strike...
I haven't finished it, but I am genuinely enjoying it...
I'd get on board for a new one...
Or maybe some of the older ones that never left Japan...

Have a nice day...

I'd love a new entry on the Advance Wars series in full 3D! It's be amazing!

Love advanced wars :)
