"We didn't want to say, we can run at 60 constantly if we just half the resolution and take out all the destructibility and remove all the glass, for example. We didn't want to do that. We wanted to keep it really pretty and try to make it 60."

people should think about this statement if they compare other games which are 30fps against 60fps. if it really makes such a big difference even between constant 60fps or "60fps a lot of the time" you can imagine what it takes to have constant 60fps vs. constant 30fps between some games of the same genre.

No magical sauce here... 60fps need 2x the processing power than 30fps... you need to process twice fast.

About resolution it is a little more... 1080p needs 2.25x the processing pixels than 720p.

720p@30fps to 1080p@60fps is close to 4x the processing power.

I know but most people don't seem to care about this huge difference in "power consumption" when they compare 30fps games with 60fps games.

The PR speech seems more flawed than usual...

how much is "a lot of the time" ?
how large are large drops ?

is 80% a lot of the time ?
is 25 fps a large drop ?

The drop in frames is compared to how much stuff is going on. If 24 guys throw grenades at one time, it will drop a bit. Don't expect anything crazy in terms of drops if they are going for 60 FPS.

edit: bad post

Maybe I lost some things, but next time they should first finish the game and tell about the frame rate.

This sound like some PR talk to fix the issue about their statements in the past, ive seen the BETA demo and the city is sooo big and grapics looks beautiful so I will forgive them 1 time for talking crap.

Maybe Sony just set restrictions on the first relseased games but thads just a delusion (why the BETA demo of KZ SF campaign was running 60 frames?)

What are you talking about? The game was 30fps... now they are optimizing for 60fps in MP because the players asked.

BTW the campaign runs at 30fps.

Yea sorry I was refering to the Campaign, I dint read ur post good cuz i was little bit shocked what was highlighted

But the Demo campaign runes smooth in 60frames

Wondering - if they had those extra 700GFLOPS some 3rd parties were expecting for next-gen (for 2.5TFLOPS total), so they can really have locked 60fps with visual fidelity as it is in current build, would they go with that or would they go for even more effects and 60 fps "a lot of times"?

The multiplayer demo runs at 60fps... the campaign demo runs at 30fps... and yeah it is smooth.

2.5TF? It's more 1.96TF with CPU included... GPU only 1.84TF.

My poor source has already been udpatedXD

(Sony just sent us this new Killzone: Shadow Fall trailer, and it's a 60 fps version!
Update: This of course doesn't mean that the actual final game will run at 60 fps!)

my bad

Edit: google is screwing me up, everything I said here can be considered bullcrap, Iam misinformed about KZ SF, I will do more research about stuff in the future I dont own.

Lol I think it's the first time Guerilla works with 60fps and didn't check how other developers achieve 60fps. I'm really yet to see a game on consoles that does not drop frames at all, and a lot of them if not the majority run slightly below the 60fps benchmark most of the time. Yet every developer states that their game runs at 60fps.
So no need for excuses Guerilla, cool you want to be honest, but everyone does it.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
