Forums - Nintendo - EA Says Miyamoto Is Falling Down On The Job

EA has precisely what right to talk about a company that they refuse to do business with?

EA can go ahead and continue making games that don't work and require in addition of the 60 dollar price tag another dozen micro transactions around 10 dollars each to give a complete experience.

I'll go ahead and supprt Nintendo and any other developer who doesn't put into their mission statement the desire to bend over consumers and make them squeal.

I feel like you'll be quoted a lot for this, but exactly correct. So smug and uhg, infuriating really..

I paid retail price at launch for Pikmin 3.
The last time I did that for an EA game was NEVER!

Worst company of USA is criticizing nintendo? lol. EA needs to improve themselves. Nintendo is doing great. Here is a compilation of EA's recent "smart" business decisions.

1. Spending $70 - $100 million on APB without marketing costs. Later sell it at a loss.
2. Warhammer online cost.
3. Popcap purchase at $750 million.
4. SWTOR development at $300+ million. But spending almost none for marketing.
5. More purchase of mobile and social game developers.

To be fair, the Popcap purchase might actually pay off. PVZ and Bejeweled are very popular. But making one good business move doesn't absolve them of any of their stupidity.

Lol, just an all around lame comment, including the "dead" guy remark. EA you can be a little more PC for sure.

Bah speak frankly I say.  Why do we worry about how were phrasing things?  We all know what they would have meant if they said "a man who has passed away" or something

Well, how about just not referencing him at all.  But yeah, generally I am with you as I am very blunt myself.  But these guys gotta realise they are on the clock when they make these public comments.

At the end of the day, it does seem like there is an underlying fall out between EA and Nintendo.

What an ignorant fool! Like so many said before me: apple ONLY does hw, and no sw at all - so it's not like they're competing in THAT sense. And Miyamoto has done a shit ton more than EA to expand the gaming audience; Mario (although that's some 30 yrs ago), and more recently Wii Sports and Wii Fit. What have EA done except buying companies that create smash hits (bioware, dice etc) and many times running them into the ground?

Stfu guy quoted in the OP!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

was that whole Origin fiasco this bad?

Some times it's funny to read all the hate EA gets. One would think that they'd be broke by now, since they're the evil guy whom no one likes. In reality, they make tons of money every year and they are constantly one of the top five publishers with the most revenue (always surpassed by Ninty).

I don't see why they should change anything at this point, since customers speak with their wallets and they don't have any issue with EA. I don't see anything wrong with his comment. I think it's true. Miyamoto might be a legend, but the effect that Ninty had on children is long gone. Most of them care about apple products now. If they want to claim their old glory, they need to come up with something original, like wii controls. That was a revolution.

Because the only way to tell how people feel about a company is by how profitable they are.  Walmart and Exxon must be the most loved business in the world.

There is a reason why EA was voted the 'worst company in America' and that indeed signals that they should change something.

The fact that there is a discussion of Miyamoto versus the entire rest of the industry shows what a giant he is.

Remind me, what game did Steve Jobs make?
