Forums - Gaming - Goodbye Steambox, hello Steam Machines.

http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamMachines/

And there is one more announcement coming to?

So, we now say good bye to Steambox/Steam Box (Gabecube still may linger on though), and say hello to Steam Machines.

So do Steam Machines get their own forum on here, and do we call the fans of the Steam Machine "Steampunks"?

Wait wait, so Valve is working with different partners in order to bring different types of "Steamboxes"?

This is interesting.

I think every PC sold with the SteamOS will be a Steammachine.

It is like they won't have a hardware anymore... just focus in the SteamOS... I can be wrong.

i still need to see some legit news about this first.
will it be this super awesome console people are hyping it out to be, or will it be just another HD-triplet?

Hm, in my opinion a single machine for 2-3 years would have been more interesting, because devs could optimize for that and hence make it quite a bit more efficient than other PCs.

This might be a game changer.

I wonder what this will mean for the industry, if Valve succeeds, and chances are they will!

Seems like what I said.

"Entertainment is not a one-size-fits-all world. We want you to be able to choose the hardware that makes sense for you, so we are working with multiple partners to bring a variety of Steam gaming machines to market during 2014, all of them running SteamOS."

What make a SteamMachine is the SteamOS... so any partner will can make your own steammachine PC.

Very interesting. Eagerly waiting for new details.

I'm on phone... there are a lof of info here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=686081
