Forums - Sony - PS4/PS3/PS Vita JRPG Natural Doctrine Gets New Info, Art, Screnshots, Star Spangled Anime Staff

About two weeks ago we got the first character artwork, screenshots and information about Kadokawa Games’ “Simulation RPG” Natural Doctrine, in development for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. Today we get a few more snippets of information and more artwork and screenshots.

We learn that the game is set in and around a city named Feste, and that the story’s hero is a warrior named Jeff. He serves as an officer of the Mine Development Escort Brigade. Together with him we have Vasilisa (that we already saw in the previous post), that serves in the same squad as Jeff. Lastly, we meet Anca, the blonde leader of the Mine Development Escort Brigade.

The city of Feste is placed in rather dangerous territory, as it’s surrounded by lairs of dangerous non-human creatures like orcs, goblins, minotaurs and lizardmen. Battles against these creatures will be turn-based.

The staff will be made of quite prominent names of both game development and Anime production (Kadokawa Games’ contacts have been put to good use there). We already knew that the executive producer is Kadokawa Games’ own president Yoshimi Yasuda (that also produced Killer is Dead), together with Kensuke Tanaka.

Character design will be handled by Atsushi Ikarya of the popular animation studio Ufotable. Ikariya-san handled the animation direction and character design of the recent anime series The Devil is a Part-Timer! and Fate/Zero.

The game director will be Atsushi Ii, that you probably know (if not by name) for directing the Patapon series, while the music is composed by Noriyuki Asakura, that composed the score of the Ruroni Kenshin TV series.

Below you can see a gallery of new screenshots and character artwork, courtesy of Dengeki Online and Famitsu (that strangely enough had slightly different galleries).

As a small element of hope for us all, the names of the characters actually have an official English wording, which could be a good hint about a possible western release.

I like how it looks, and I like that there is a Vasilisa in there maybe a little Russian angle?

Want to see it in action more, but have my attention.

I'm always up for a new, turn-based game. Here's to hoping that it gets a western release.

I guess it's in mind, given that it's planned for PS4, which is bound to get a nice round fanbase in the west before it does in Japan.

I'm guessing those are Vita screens, no way in hell are they PS4...XD

Will probably get it on Vita or PS3.

Haha. As if bad graphics in an RPG ever stopped Japanese developers before (or stopped people from buying them).

I wouldn't expect any serious graphic difference. Also, the graphics here are nice enough.

Looks pretty. I hope we hear something about a Western release soon.

Oh I wasnt talking about the character models and the art style - was talking about the environment lol. Looks PS2/PSPish.

Kinda. But great for PS2.

Outlaw knows what's up.

I do want more JRPG's. Turn based in this day and age ? Oh well I expected more.
