Betrayed by EA and Ubi? Its not EA's and Ubisoft's job to lose money on a platform to help that platform

Funny, cause they took up that job for the PS360.

The ps360 sales justified the development

And before that the Ps2 SW sales and 360s user base justified their development as well.

Wiis SW sales? Sucked for 3rd parties. Wii Us user base? Terrible for 3rd parties.

Contradictions, contradictions everywhere.

I seem to recall Ubi making a bankload of cash off of Wii titles (Raving Rabbids, Just Dance, Michael Jackson Experience). Those titles counted for about 40 million copies sold. I'd say that justifies Wii U development.

Even EA can't claim it didn't profit off of the Wii. EA Sports Active sold almost four million units, and the Tiger Woods games kept selling around a million units year after year. The MySims franchise sold about 1.5 million units the first two years and one million units with the third entry, but I guess gamers quickly got tired of that series getting overmilked. Either way, EA banked off of the Wii too.

So if PS360 sales justify Ubi/EA taking losses on their predecessors, then EA's support really should be "unprecedented" like it was promised. I'll give Ubisoft credit for sticking with the Wii U thus far, though not releasing Rayman Legends in the Spring was stupid.

this is all true but here's the thing, are those type of games going to sell on the WIi U? Just Dance hasnt done anything, Raving Rabbids, dont think they are gonna do another one of those. ANd i think EA is simply done making those types of games. Those were the types of games that they made money on for Wii. I dont see that happing again for WIi U at least not right now.

OT i see where the OP is coming from, but no, Wii U isnt taht much more powerful than PS360 it should have been cheaper,

But my point is that if you use the argument that PS360 sales for EA and Ubisoft justifies gambling on PS4 and X1, then the Wii U deserves a fair shot based on the money it made for those publishers too. Would they have the same success? Probably not, or at least not yet until more WU's find more homes, but like with all young consoles, it's a chicken/egg sort of thing.

Nah the PS4 and the Xbox One should be cheaper, take out all that suplerfluous shit you're packing in the box.

The only thing that actually costs that much in it is the RAM and the GPU.

PS4 is being sold at a loss, so I don't think removing that 10 cent LED strip would make a difference to the consumer.

Or do you have something else in mind when you say superfluous?

Its a half serious sarcastic remark about the content of the user post above

Its half serious because Sony is only taking a 60$ loss or something (PS+ and a game or whatever negartes this) on the hardware

A controller doesnt make for expensive hardware alone, building a performance engine amalgmation at that size does take quite a bit of money squeezing.
