Forums - Nintendo - supporting evidence that Wii U main issue is software

that sentence makes no sense. they will destroy X1 and ps4 with those exclusives. releasing at the same time would be a disadvantage.

They won't now...the console has no momentum unlike the PS4 and X1 that have all the momentum.  If they waited the Wii U launch line up would have been way more enticing than the X1/PS4 one and some gamers that would have got a PS4/X1 would have switched to Wii U.  Seeing Wii U sales higher than X1 and PS4 would have made third party developers make games for Wii U even if they had to scale down or w/e.  Right now I don't see Wii U sales comparing to X1 and PS4's.

Wii U for sure has its flaws but so does every console, with the right software people should be able to look past those flaws.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

This is actually pretty well known. Software has and always will sell hardware.

The only thing annoying is that people call doom way too quickly. Yes the WiiU clearly is not doing well but in time it will get games and the WiiU will sell decently well. No worries.

However you will have many customers never returning to the WiiU (AKA casuals).  Sorry but it is highly doubful that many of those people will ever return and which is why WiiU will not make it to 100m like the Wii did.

If only Nintendo had something other than yet another 2D platformer and mini-game collection to launch their new console with (and had made the damn thing more powerful than PS360 instead of on par with them), they wouldn't be in the predicament they are currently in.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

It should be well known but we still have plenty of people claiming Wii U Is selling badly because its a poorly designed peice of hardware or the gamepad is so unappealing people wont buy a Wii U even with games that interest them.

I think there is still a strong market for casual gaming, not as big as on Wii but I dont see any reason they would all just up and leave consoles forever. Obviously Wii Sports isnt going to sell 80m or Wii Fit U isnt going to sell 20m but they should still be able to pull in a few million casuals.

The point of this wasnt to say Wii U will start selling like Wii did in its prime but that sales will be much better once these games come out.

It's a no-brainer that the issue has been lack of software, which is going to be cured by having software.

That has always ever been the only real issue, outside of needing better marketing/ads.

Anyone arguing different is just trolling/fanboying too hard.

...And the software issue is 2 fold - lack of compelling and mass-market appealing games, and lack of GAMES in general. Though Mario Kart, Smash, 3D Mario, Wii Fit, Wii U Party, and DKC are a start, I don't think that's going to be quite enough.
