Not all humans are born equal. Neither are gamers.

There's still lots of debate as to wether video games have good image, how far into the mainstream/casual it has spread, and how gamers are seen.

But the truth is, most people today play video games. And unless you're a stupid conservative mum bitch or a bitch video game journalist, most people don't care or buy into the "violent/sexist video games argument".

So I guess it's more about the different type of gamers there is: someone who casually play PS3 is a normal "guy" to most people. Someone who casually plays World of Warcraft is a fantasy geek to most people. Someone who mainly play online shooter like CS or CoD is a couch potatoe to lots of gamers. Someone who mainly play Nintendo platform/adventure is a kid/loser to lots of other gamers too.

I play all kind of video gamers but I consider myself more of a "solo gamer" or "art game". What about you?

There is no types of gamer, a gamer is simply just a gamer whether on phone or PC they are still gamers. BTW if people want to believe there's a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer I would face palm.

I don't understand why MMORPG is grouped with strategy. Some of these genres need to be split apart from how you grouped them up. Strategy games (RTS and TBS) seems more logical to group together than MMORPG and strategy.

Most people play a lot of different genres.  They might play one genre more than the others.  However, most don't just say hey I'm a FPS gamer or whatever.  Most people don't associate themselves to one type of genre to classify them as that type of gamer.

I would say Platform/Adventure/Solo gamer. But I hate platformers
