With MH4 just now releasing, and Pokemon with the new 2DS on its way, just how much do you think the 3DS will have sold total by the time the year ends?

This could well be the biggest 3DS year ever.

Well considering that it's at 33 mil I don't see why pokemon could push more hardware seeing as how there is alot of pokemon fans already owning a 3DS.

Well considering that it's at 33 mil I don't see why pokemon could push more hardware seeing as how there is alot of pokemon fans already owning a 3DS.



Oh well, your gonna take that back probably before the year even ends. If you dont think pokemon will push or 2DS will help as much then its on you. Also there are a bunch of people who are buying a handheld (2ds/3ds) for pokemon. There are some even on this site.

my original prediction from jan was 20mil and im still going to say it cuz i dont go back. Realistically i see it doing a Minimum of 15.5mil but i see it arou d 17.5mil-18.5mil. If 2DS takes off it can make 20mil, but this is the only year i can see it having the chance.

Just for reference, I'd point out the 3DS has sold about 14 million every year.

Starting this year at about 28 million, if we were to assume sales stay exactly the same as they've always been regardless of Pokemon, MH4, and the 2DS, then sales would come out to 42 million by the end of the year.

I know and all but you can't deny the fact that there are already alot of pokemon fans on the 3DS plus some of these pokemon fans also play mario kart or super mario 3D land so all in all what pokemon fans haven't got a 3DS yet ?

So about 48 million originally, 43.5 minimum, and 46 million most probably. Interesting.
