Here is something to consider...was this test performed using optimal settings on the Lumias? I can take a photo in pitch dark and make it much brighter than that using the Lumia 920.

For example, the Camera Pro app has manual shutter speed control. You can leave the shutter open for up to 4 seconds. Leaving it open for that long will usually make pitch dark photos appear too bright when you leave the shutter open for 4 seconds.

I've already said this twice to him, perhaps he will get it this time?

To summarise.

We can make our Nokia's produce all of those shots if we want to.

I find it very amusing when seeing these threads as its really easy to see who has personal experience and knows what they are talking about, who is just pasting links and saying "here look at these tests/benchmarks" and who is just trolling with personal and/or biased opinions.

Hahaha seriously? You dont see the first pic is out of focus? Even my android 2007 phone takes better pics. Z1 takes more natural pics than the Nokia.  http://unleashthephones.com/2013/09/14/gallery-sony-xperia-z1-and-nokia-lumia-925-low-light-photography-comparison/

This post has it all!

Comparison with a wrong phone AND a source that does not even prove you right.
The author of your article basically said they are going head to head.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

the Sony Z1 is still a far better phone. the lumia 1020 isnt even close. so this isnt really a big deal.

Oh boy Bananaking, this was expected from you.

Please provide the reasoning for this.  Hard to take it serious otherwise.

lumia 2010 vs Z1
dual core 1.5gh . VS quad core snapdragon 800 @2.2 GHZ. not even a contest.

adreno 225 VS adreno 330. again, not even a contest.

720 4.5" screen (332P) vs 5" 1080P (441)

32GB memory, NO card slot. VS 16GB memory with an SD card. a win for the xperia.

Z1 is water resistant and dust proof. the lumia isnt. epic win for the Z1

the lumia has a better camera, but the Z1 isnt bad by any means. however the Z1 is an easily better phone. no need to provide any reasoning for this as it cant be more obvious. anyways, wont get into a huge debate about this as i simply dont care that much. so if you do reply to me dont expect a reply back honestly

Lol taking pictures with your phone.

is this a joke thread?

The first two pictures(with the sony poster)

The experia z picture isn't even sharp.
Even my old shitty mobile(6mp) is making better pictures than that.
This is 100% amateurish.

I'm pretty sure all existing mid class mobiles can make better pictures.

Another problem: If you own a lumia(like those guys) you can change the parameters as you are used to handle it.
As soon as you have a new mobile and are unexperiemced you won't get good results.

It is better to wait for a serious test than this stupid double standard from guys even unable to shoot sharp pictures.

Some soecs and comparisons here are valid, but a lot of this isn't valid when comparing Windows Phone vs Android phone.

CPU and GPU specs for example. Sure Z1 has a faster CPU and GPU but its completely meanigless considering that apps and games get optimized for each platform differently. You will not see a shread of lag on windows phone, be it in games, apps, navigation... while on Android you won'te see it either, but there are odds that some apps mey not utilize the Snapdragon 800 properly (being optimized for Tegra or Samsungs Oxynos) hence not working properly. I know for a fact that I still notice lag in some apps on my Nvidia Shield which has the most powerful Android cpu/gpu SoC available right now.

While we're talking about specs, Lumia has a touch screen that can be utilized with gloves and a "clearblack" screen technology that detects sunlight and maxes out white balance when its bright for beter visibility. I'd say these things are about as usefull as being waterproof.

The bottom line for me here is that these phones are cream of the crop on the platforms that they are built on. I'd be perfectly happy with either if someone gave it to me...
