Considering the hype train some people here and NeoGaf it´s a realy conservative estimation.
Sony has to go beyond grafics raw power and har core gamers good will to stand a long run with the might of Microsoft money.

I wonder why all these people are pre-ordering these next gen consoles then... wow it's really confusing ...lol
I thought i would buy one as a paperweight... not for the 20-33 odd games that will be available before Xmas on both platforms.
Note. Your opinion that there are no games is not necessarily a reflection on other peoples opinions.

How can something that has not happened yet prove you right? Is that some kind of twisted ZEN logic? The games will be better on PS4, and there are games you can only get on Ps4 not ps3...The demand is there. Sony has games, so your point is moot. It is well within reasonable limits, this sales prediction. You're just against it because it's a sony console and not the wii-u. All signs point to a wildly sucessfull PS4 launch, and demand will remain high for a long time. |
"It is well within reasonable limits, this sales prediction." WHO SAID IT WASN'T? THROWING PERSONAL OFFENSES WON'T HELP YOU HERE.
in case you were too busy to notice, I already claimed those numbers are doable. but upon hearing a comment saying "sony has the games to guarantee it", I had to disagree because of the aforementioned reasons.
"All signs point to a wildly sucessfull PS4 launch, and demand will remain high for a long time." NO. All sign point to a sucessfull launch followed by a big drop after holidays. the reason for wich post holidays demand shouldn't be that high was already explained (most games on ps4 being available elsewhere.

it's not really an opinion. ps4 will have very few exclusives for the first months = few reasons to buy a 399 machine instead of some $60 games.
I actually think it will happen. Looking at how the pre-orders looks like :) (even if Sony did not posted EXACT numbers, I really believe they are over 2m)...

Lol do you not understand what opinion means. You are suggesting that people *only* buy a console for exclusives = WRONG.
There are 33 games for the PS4, some exclusive, some console exclusive some multiplatform. What's your point. If you are suggesting that out of those 33 games thats not enough reason for *Some* people to buy a console, you really are crazy.
You are suggesting that the 33 games are few reasons because they do not interest you. This is your *opinion*. I do not agree with that opinion and strangely enough others do not agree with you either.

I don't recall saying if the games interest me or not, so don't put words in my mouth.
the point I made is crystal clear: most of the ps4's lineup is available elsewhere, especially on ps360. the people who will buy the ps4 in 2013 are the ones who would get it regardless of price or lineup. and VERY FEW PEOPLE WILL BUY IT JUST TO PLAY PS360 GAMES. how hard is it to understand that?

I have copied and pasted some comments you made above...
You have said that it's not an opinion that there is few reasons to buy a machine. So if it's not an opinion you are suggesting its fact. Sorry thats BS. That's not fact that's your opinion.
If Sony are to be believed many people have already pre-ordered over 1 million. Thats a lot of people who apparently have no reason to upgrade. And even if they only had 1 million and no more, thats a significant number which bascially tramples on your "few" concept.

the aforementioned few people are the ones besides those (who aren't buying it for cross gen titles either).
