my advice is just screw WiFi and connect your router to the Wii with a wire. that way its a MUCH more stable connection and less latency, its much much better for gaming. trust me, once you go wired you will never go back

don't you remember this epic thread?

A separate dongle for ethernet can be purchased for Wii U. It's also compatible with the Wii one if someone has it

I have the same problems in the living room. The only way to get a reliable fast connection is by using my wireless N laptop as a bridge.with mHotspot.

Never had any problem with conection

Only time I had wifi drop out was when my router was dying. At that time my upstairs PC was also losing connection. I replaced that and back to never having an issue.

It might also be a good idea to change channels on your router. My original Wii back in 2006 had trouble downloading things online, sometimes downloads would be ultra-slow or they'd stop mid-way through and I'd have to re-download. I went online to Nintendo's support site, and it said a lot of people have better online connectivity on their Wii's if they changed their router channel to 11 or 12 or something like that. Mine was on 6.

Food for thought.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

My router's definitely not dying, my PC is connected to it through ethernet cable and my iPhone and 3DS are completely OK with it. I've tried editing the IP address' and so on as suggested by someone above, but after much fiddling there's no improvement. I can't even get it to connect using auto config setup now! I've restarted the system and, for now, it has a connection.

Same here, Miiverse doesn't load correctly sometime and there's a huge lag in BLOPS2.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

day one "U" buyer and the only online issues I have are trying to join friends in blops2.  A certain person will join and that will drop others out. or, our party randomly falling apart and then can't rejoin w/out resetting the game.  Then very rarely at that point I'm unable to connect to server and reboot.  I blame blops for that.

/shrug  other than that, no issues at all with the connection...and it's being used all the time for anything from games to netflix to streaming porn through the browser (which works beautifully, btw).

Every once in a great while I have had the machine freeze up on me just randomly.  several times long ago during blops2, twice more recent during darksiders2.  That electronic beep noise is freaky  =p
