Forums - Gaming - Skater Boy talks about Kingdom Hearts III

With the recent comments from SquareEnix saying they want MORE software on the Wii - doesn't this just seem, even more likely?

I can't understand why people are so worried about this. Kingdom Hearts has never been a "hardcore" title.

Every month the same thing... let me ask you three questions...

1. Is the PS3 on the same path of the PS2, answer yes.

2. Third party game taking off on Wii, Not so much.

3. With the KH team with full knowledge of the PS3 why would they develop for the Wii instead, and why oh why would Normura vision seen in the secret trailer be stopped from coming to life on the Wii.

MY personal preference, yes I want it on the PS3 because it is a gaming machine versus my Wii which I consider a silly toy (No More Heroes has changed my mind slightly).

I would like to see these thread stopped because of rumors, until Normura announces it after KHvs13 then talk about KH3 on the Wii until then stop making a thread a month on the subject please Soriku.

One more thing, it's now common sense that the Wii is a casual game, and by no means is KH for casual gamers, it is a intense deep game for what I would describe as hardcore gamers. Just my worthless two cents though.

EDIT: one thing I'd like to agree with you with is that the white box won't see the light of day of this series since RPG (minus Mass Effect) tank to their potential on other systems.

Are you a troll account, or honestly uninformed?

Half of the stuff you said is blatantly untrue (look at the bloody numbers. they're the reason this site exists), and the rest was so ridiculous I'm not even going to try and touch it.

Although I do like your claim of Kingdom Hearts not being casual. You clearly haven't been to an anime club and seen the dozens of fangirls who normally wouldn't touch a game, drooling at how Sora and Riku make a cute couple. My friend's 12 year old handicapped sister who loves beating stuff up with Disney charaters, and has beaten both games at least three times, is also clearly very hardcore in your books.

Despite what many angry "hardcore" gamers seem to think, being shitty isn't the main criteria for a casual game. It's wide appeal to people who don't normally play games, and own very few of them. Other examples of games with huge casual appeal, even though it's frequently forgotten, are Grand Theft Auto, and Halo.

Square will make this for PS3. Its speculation sure. But i dont see it being exclusive, Square always look after Sony, just like Namco.

You mean the Namco that has an exclusive Tales game on 360 and Wii but not on PS3?

Companies have only one strategy: making a profit (as high as possible). The install base, software sales and development cost of the PS3 makes this a very unbeneficial platform for developers.

Don´t think that there is one company that really cares for Sony. In business there are no friends, just businesspartners.

As far as I am aware, no platform has been announced for Tales of Vesperia. It's only been rumored to go to the 360 because of meta code found in the official website, which could've been there simply because they borrowed the website design from that of another game. As the website has been updated, the code has been removed.

Vesperia was added to Motoi Sakuraba's (the composer) discography and it had Xbox 360 labeled as the platform. The 360 reference was removed a few hours later. This was a few weeks after the initial Vesperia website incident. So that supports the case too. I'm pretty sure the game is going to end up on 360.

because we have PS3's and want to play the game. Same reason Wii fans get upset when people say it might go somewhere else. duh.

But these people get angry to the point of denial, the type of asinine arguments that spawn at the idea is just sad.

With the KH team with full knowledge of the PS3 why would they develop for the Wii instead, and why oh why would Normura vision seen in the secret trailer be stopped from coming to life on the Wii.  That video is for the PSP game.  Please don't imply that the Wii is not as powerful as the PSP.  KH3 hasn't even been acknowledged by Square yet.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

So if this comes to the Wii, will I have to use two controllers to wield two keyblades?

Well, WKS is already going to the PS3. Suikoden I think will go to the Wii due to rumors and since it never sold well in the first place even on the PS2 and it's niche =/

Suikoden is a game I will buy even if it goes to to the Wii, although I doubt that will happen.

You may not like it but Suikoden doesn't have the fanbase to support a decent sized budget.  They would just be throwing away profit by putting it on the PS3.  It's pretty much gonna sell the same on PS2, PS3, or Wii, most of the fanbase will just follow the game.  The game was never about having great graphics, and those who are actually a fan of the series (like me) should be well aware of this.  This game is about great storyline, characters, and a good mix of gameplay adding in strategy in with traditional RPG elements.

If you wanna place blame just either blame Sony for making a system that is too expensive to support games like this, or blame gamers for not having the same interests as you resulting in low sales.

Either way I don't understand how true fans of the series can be so upset that it would go to wii, or anywhere else for that matter.

It doesn't matter what system Kingdom Hearts 3 is on, I will buy it day 1 regardless. I would like it on Wii though.

@BengaBenga

My reasoning for SE needing a 360 game was that SE said it was going to produce (finally) a 360 game.

That being said, I think it would be unwise for KH III to be the game. I just thought it would make a great arguement.

If you ask me, the longer before development starts, the more likely the game will be on the Wii. That's because the Wii user base will become too hard to ignore. And if Brawl moves as predicted, it will show there is demand for something besides minigames (in case SMG didn't show that).
