Thing is I believe this information has come up in other threads, so it is not new, and is considered suspect.  So, it would be sad to rehash suspect information over and over again, as if cheerleading.  It is also sad that someone who is a videogame player needs to have such information to boost their morale.

1/ which other thread ? If so just signal there is a duplicate.

2/ ... considered suspect ? so you are denying this officially announced chips are a fake or that the interpretation of their use is erroneous ?

3/ as long as the X1 has the best line-up how could morale be low ? if it ends up being the more powerful it´s just a bonus

when you have a thread that is making comparisons in performance and power between the 2 consoles, it will ALWAYS attract both sides. this thread isnt just about the xbox, its about what it may have that could make it match or pass the PS4 in power. That will naturally make sony fans want to join in. This site is about comparing sales figures, and part of that is the differences between them, including power.

If you don't like an opposing side to the argument, go to a dedicated fan board or put it in the XB/ps nation thread. When you make a new thread, its an invitation to the whole community to come and discuss the topic. If you see a thread already made and want to discuss it without the other side, you can always bring it up in XB/PS nation thread, in a private message, or on a chat program.

why fill these threads with bitching about the other side for having replied and voicing an opinion? it gets you no where and derails the topic. rebut the opinion, not the fact that they posted.

had it attracted more constructive comments from the Sony side instead of mindless dissing you would be right

i have yet to see any of those. that thread about the second xbox GPU was infact full of nonesense. even when Penello debunked the rumors there were still people claiming that the xbox one might have a second GPU. yeah, no good discussions there. then we have this secret souce stuff come out of no where, tell me, Penello has been going bat shit crazy trying to prove that the xbox one isnt as far behind the PS4 as people think. he has pointed out many reasons why, why didnt he point out this secret souce thing? because it doesnt exist. yet we will have other threads and other rumors about the xbox ones power, and all will be debunked. the real question is why are people going bat shit crazy over the fact that the PS4 is stronger than the xbox one? they are in the same league visually, but people cant seem to accept the PS4 is stronger. 

@underlined: just because people are pointing out the obvious truth does not mean they are bashing, trolling or flamebaiting, you need to accept that people who do not like your console of choice do have the right to point out the negative things about it and have the right and will call out on bullshit regarding your preffered console. 

Okay, if you really need to have people "accepting" the fact that "your" console is the most powerfull, "your" console is the best, etc. to help you sleep at night. Fine; just create a thread about it and I will be more than happy to sign it actually, as I believe it so... (not sure why you keep hammering me with your "obvious", "no doubt" blah blah about the PS4 being more powerfull as I already believe it and I never said the opposite)...

Now can you let this thread about "Xbox One capabilities" out of that (and all the other where you are coming in with the only intend to piss these people who are talking about the OP instead of bragging about their own console? Or just because you have the right to post stupid comments like "here we go again" or "this reall sad", you are doing in every Xbox thread talking about its capabilities/features just to remind people that the PS4 is more powerfull?

He seems full of crap. First he has no idea what Sony did with the audio chip. It may be a piece of crap or it could be better than the bones chip. He also talks about what he thinks the extra processors might do. When they may do nothing worth mentioning beyond small tasks. The ESRAM being in banks of 8mb means nothing. The developers will only see the final 32mb. Same as the DDR3 ram. So no it is not being used in a unique way. PC games wont make use of it for years unless the CPU becomes the bottlekneck. PC's already have GDDR5.

 

His post just seems like a lot of what ifs with some bullshit thrown in.

I also think that the PS4 has the more powerful hardware.

Because the hardware is only one piece of the puzzle, I also think that people trying to say that on system is 30-50% faster is an absolute fallacy.

Nothing will be decided in the next 18 months, as developers start to fully utilize each systems capabilities.

I would find it sad if there were a dozen threads about a possible dGPU on the PS4 to make it even more powerful, even when the specs have been announced and everything else that has happened.  

I don't really get why there are all these articles about a secret "sauce", especially when there is little behind to support it.  dGPU, 16 GB RAM, etc.  If they announce it officially - great, if they don't, then you are just searching for something that probably isn't even there.  

Are people disappointed about the Xbox One's specs and hoping it's better than they thought?

And you failed to actually read the article or actually read the comment that I highlighted.  The relevant point was made in the comments.

Both the Xbox One and the PS4 have DVR functions.  Having separate, discrete processors for audio/video encoding/decoding frees up both the CPU and GPU.
