The cell wasn't able to handle it, so I highly doubt it. On another note, there is something strange with WiiU that might make me buy it.

I honestly wonder where this line of thought comes from.

Although it sounds like a stupid post, there is some substance behind it. I'll let you discover it by yourself.

You state that Bayonetta on PS3 was gimped because of the hardware? I personally just thought it was poorly optimized, but I'm no genius.

Have to see past that... I would never go for something so obvious with such an apparently cheap post. But please leave it as it is.

P.S. If Bayonetta 2 is 1080p@60fps, with the whole on screen chaos, I will really buy the WiiU.

Oh, I get it now. ;)

Well, at least Bayonetta 2 looks better than the original even if its running at 720p/60fps.

I really can't see how this is even up for debate. MGR: Revengance--ANOTHER Platinum Games creation--runs at a solid 60 FPS and on the 360 version at least it can be upscaled to 1080p. We know that the Wii U has something more than three times eDRAM cache and RAM of the 360, and projections say about three times the FLOPS, too. Going from 720p @ 60 FPS to 1080p @ 60 FPS only requires 2.25 times more FLOPS, not three.

The game won't be fully optimized for the system, but the Wii U is just powerful it doesn't need to be to hit 1080p @ 60 FPS. Platinum will have to consciously chose to forego 60 FPS to put effects in, and that would be a very stupid decision.

hmm...good point.

I read somewhere that Nintendo said their games will run at 720p.  You could very well be right, and that's even better.

This was in reference to their first generation games.  It was simply to expedite development and learn about HD development and programmable shaders.

You are right, there really is no technical reason why New Super Mario Bros. U couldn´t run in 1080p, the game has some (really good looking) animated backgrounds, but there isn´t a whole lot going on at once on the screen.

I wonder how long it will be before they announce that this game will be released on other systems.

Probably in a year or so. Capcom can't afford to do exclusives at this point. But yet they have one lined up for each system. Very strange...

Woops, so many Japanenese publishers are bankrupt these days, I got them confused.

But Sega can't afford them especially. I'd be shocked if it wasn't being ported as we speak (or type...)

Sega have nothing to do with this game...

Nintendo are the publisher who also funded the game's development. Its unlikely it will arrive on other platforms.

Yet we also thought the same thing about the Mass Effect series never leaving Microsoft.

So there might be a clause in Platinum Games contract with Nintendo that allows them to port the game if its unsuccessful or after a certain amount of time has elapsed.

Since Bayonetta is their biggest game, it would be in their best interests to plan a Mass Effect style coup. However that is specualation, for the moment we have to assume this game will be completely exclusive to Nintendo.

That's odd seeing how their logo is still at the end of the trailer http://platinumgames.com/games/bayonetta-2/

I imagine they still own the IP and it's they're choice on rather it goes multiplat, so I agree with your overall post. I believe it's only a matter of time before it's released on every system, especially if it sales poorly upon launch.
