Guess this means you were right all along about the Wii U. It's very good news.

This was in reference to their first generation games.  It was simply to expedite development and learn about HD development and programmable shaders.

I really can't see how this is even up for debate. MGR: Revengance--ANOTHER Platinum Games creation--runs at a solid 60 FPS and on the 360 version at least it can be upscaled to 1080p. We know that the Wii U has something more than three times eDRAM cache and RAM of the 360, and projections say about three times the FLOPS, too. Going from 720p @ 60 FPS to 1080p @ 60 FPS only requires 2.25 times more FLOPS, not three.

The game won't be fully optimized for the system, but the Wii U is just powerful it doesn't need to be to hit 1080p @ 60 FPS. Platinum will have to consciously chose to forego 60 FPS to put effects in, and that would be a very stupid decision.

Why is it that surprising. It ran at 60fps 720 on 360. Graphically it doesn't look much different from the first so I could definitely see it being 1080p 60fps on the Wii U.

Although it sounds like a stupid post, there is some substance behind it. I'll let you discover it by yourself.

You state that Bayonetta on PS3 was gimped because of the hardware? I personally just thought it was poorly optimized, but I'm no genius.

Have to see past that... I would never go for something so obvious with such an apparently cheap post. But please leave it as it is.

P.S. If Bayonetta 2 is 1080p@60fps, with the whole on screen chaos, I will really buy the WiiU.
