Nobody got banned for calling the initial PS3 the "PS Fat". You know why? Because nobody cared! Nobody cared about what people chose to call a gaming console.

Larry should just quiet down and man up. It's a name and it's a name that makes sense.

The fact that this is even an issue right now is ridiculous. What? Do we need political correctness now for what to call objects made of metal and plastic? Have we really become THAT emotionally attached?

Attached?  No.  Disrespectful yes.   And as far as I am aware we call the PS3 Phat that because of the much slimmer model.

The trolling has went way to far in the last year and yes many things will be disrespectful.  If you dont agree that is fine.

You should not be politically correct, but everyone should at least be respectful too.  Or have we forgotten how to do that?

No, we have not forgotten. It is simply a case of something so incredibly trivial being made into a big deal.

People need to take a step back and realize what exactly this is and wonder why they are allowing this to bother them.

Do we now need to show respect to hardware? Should we start banning people too when they say they don't consider smartphone gaming to be proper gaming? It is really no different than this you know?

And it's not like he have overreaction for the name,he just not prefer it,but well,"some people" have overreaction for that again, and as usual

But yes,it's disrespectful,it's not because just the name,it's because how people use this name

Yes, people are overreacting, but it is the MS camp (mainly Maj. Nelson and the people agreeing with him), because calling the XBox One the XBone instead of Xone, XB-One, XBO, etc... is now all of a sudden a crime that should suddenly warrant moderation or I should suddenly be told that I am being disrespectful. Sorry I don't agree. It's an electronic device.

You say he isn't overreacting, yet moderators should ban people for using the term? That my friend is an obvious overreaction.

And when i'm talking about 2nd hand or 24 hour things?i'm talking about gaming and other features,it's people not pay attention before the reveal

People weren't flipping out about the games, so I am lost as to what your point is.

Sudden?they announce it in official site, how is that sudden?and it's officially announce AFTER the reveal, what the hell you even wanna talking about?

I was talking about your assertion that people were complaining about things that were already known, yet now you are saying the opposite, so once again I am lost as to what the point of it all was.

The only group are thicker skin is some people complaing anything about MS did/do/will do and click in the thread to complaing or shit on it every time, every freaking time.

So, in a thread about the XBone and the name being disrespectful we are going to shift this to something else entirely? Alright then, I guess no need to continue our discussion. I guess we just need to leave it that we don't agree at all. No big deal.

Besides all of that, everyone does in fact need to grow thicker skin and realize where their priorities lie.

We have had over the years "PS Fat", "PoS3", "DelayStation", etc...

Hell, I remember "DelayStation" being used all the time around here a few years back.

I hope I see many of the people here in threads each time I see Apple shit on, Capcom called "Crapcom", smartphone gaming considered to not be real games, indie games being downplayed, etc...

It's all disrespectful you know?

Or, we could just not let it bother us and stop giving it attention.

Apologies. It was not meant to mean that it was you who said it. I was mearly using it as an example of how some are overreacting on something that quite honestly isn't that big of a deal.

Haters will always hate. The best thing for anyone to do about it is to not give it attention.

Unless Maj. Nelson said this, I would have never thought of XBone to be derogatory. To me it has always been nothing more than a shortening of the name XBox One. Sometimes I spell it XBone and other times I spell it XBOne. Same thing essentially, only with the O being capitalized. I do that sometimes just so people might realize why I spell it that way and how I have always intended it to be understood.

I just say XOne or X1. But yes Xbone is very disrespectful and as some one pointed out to me before its weird it doesnt get moderated. Ill post the exact message below (Not me saying it). To clarify this person left the site a long time ago.  But i do agree with his point.

"BTW I've always preferred the abreviation X1 over XBO. I think it looks cooler and it doesn't encourage the awful "Xbone" which should be warnings from mods if used. Can you imagine if Xbox fans went around saying PeeS4 or Wii Eww? Both would get banned, but for some reason it's ok to say Xbone or just flat out call it "The Bone"."

Double standards on VGC. Good example is people saying Xboner and no moderations.

Just no, and wrong analogy: XBOne is an abbreviation, although a very mildly naughty one, while Pees4 and Wii Eww are LONGER than PS4 and Wii U, so they aren't abbreviation, their sole purpose would be to troll.
XBOne is quicker both to say and write than XBox One, and while one letter longer than XOne, it's still quicker to say than it, as the double consonant "x" followed by the a semivowel and a vowel in "one" is surely more awkward to pronounce.
Surely some people use it as a very mild trolling, but they use it mainly because it's quick and it sounds better than the original. If people want to insult XBOne, they'll surely say or write something far stronger than just that name, but for example they'll call it XBox 180, and not to insult it or its developers, but only MS and its many policy changes. Oh, yes, this takes me to the point where Major Nelson is most wrong: surely the vast majority of people doesn't want by any means to be disrespectful towards XBOne's developers, why should they, but just towards those MS execs responsible for the initial decisions and policies they had to quickly reverse.

That would makes sense if X1 and XBO werent both shorter ;)

Yes, but despite not being the shortest abbreviation, XBOne is still sleeker to pronounce than both X1 (same pronounciation as XOne) and XBO (even less sleek than X1 and XOne), and what's more, it's funnier, because it gets Major Nelson mad!   It's just that for the vast majority of people it isn't meant to insult developers, just to be quick and easy to say with the added bonus of very mildly trolling MS execs and PR people, and just them.
