Forums - Gaming - Video Game Nostalgia

I have so many video game memories, it would be impossible to count. I think of many game I've played, many hours I've lost, and I don't really regret it. I also have thousands of video game songs that will always bring back memories.

However, a part of me is also sad that those memories are just that, and there's no way to relive them. I do get sad a lot thinking of my many gaming experiences, wishing I could eventually relive my entire life again. Does anyone else miss the past when they think of their gaming memories?

I think that some of the exact ideas that you have are being put into the next gen.  Those abilities to record parts of the games and save them or post them is great.

Some of my best gaming memories come from Kingdom Hearts II:

Roxas: "Looks like my summer vacation...is over"

Sorry, I think I'll cry :(

I remember the first games I ever played, the Legend of Cage, Head Over Heels and Arkanoid on my dads Amstrad CPC 6128, the Mega Drive were my golden years though :) happy memories

HD remakes such as wind waker is one way to relive them... But yes, it is not the same since nostalgia, more often than not, makes a game feel better than it should be

Yeah i miss the good old days, when you just bought games and there wasn't all this fanboy nonsense going on. When you appreciated each game in its own right for just being a different experience - not whether it got a good rating. Back then you bought lots of games based on how good the box art was, and were genuinely surprised and appreciated a game when it turned out to be a good one or had good music. Nowadays, the media tells us what games we should and shouldn't buy and what games will turn out to be good memories and which wouldn't - it's really fucked up now when you stop to think about. Nowadays it's becoming more about the money rather than the memories.

The first game I ever played (now that everybody is mentioning them) was Age of Empires II, it brings me good memories, I remember when I first played the Jeanne D'Arc campaign...and the William Wallace tutorial, that game is so amazing.
